Bill Rank at the Bix Lives Festival (1977)

Thank you so much for uploading this video!! This is the first time I've seen my grandfather perform on stage. I remember him playing his trombone in his home for me and my brothers but none of us had seen him perform on stage. My father (also Bill Rank) saw this video tonight and truly enjoyed it. Thank you again!

I am also very grateful for this video. Yesterday I was at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Bix Beiderbecke Museum. I have loaned them grandpa's trombone to be on display. Thanks again for the video!

I'm very glad to have found this. It's very good to find Bill Rank, who is one of my all-time favorite trombonists, still playing so well at this point in his career. Too, I enjoyed his insightful comments about Bix. Those two created musical history.

I was there in Davenport in 1977 and met Bill Rank! I sat in and played with Bill Allred's band on the main stage on Sunday afternoon of the fest! Those were great times! Its good to see Ernie Carson on Getzen Cornet, in this video.
