I had a flat cap that perished in a washing machine incident as well - Wore that sucker out to the point that the front edge of the brim started to open up and then the brim itself basically turned into powder when I decided to wash it before wearing it to work! It was a perfect grey - not to dull or bright, with a very fine paisley print as the liner. Its only marking was a small patch that said "Send Your Good Luck", I think it was made in South Korea. As a boring, habitual kind of person, if I ever find a particular piece of clothing that I love, I intentionally go out and buy at least one backup (or more depending on what it is). Where I used to live it was more common to see people wearing cowboy hats or other different types of hats, so it feels natural and comfortable to me to just wear the hats I'm used to. The last is a cheap, urban camo boonie that I tend to use when it's to warm for the leather hat to be comfortable. I wear my Last Crusade fedora from Ad Vintage through fall and winters. Never wore hats before getting it for my Indy and I just fell in love with the thing. The wife looks forward to me busting it out every year. Course I think she has ulterior motives. 😂

Some day I gotta get an Indy hat.

I love my Barmah Kangaroo hat with venting on the sides, and both my wife and I have custom hats from Texas Hatters, Inc in Lockhart Texas. My wife has a number of hats from all over the world as we get her hats as we travel. Some from Germany, Seattle and Texas just to name a few places.

I love the idea of getting a hat from wherever you travel. What a great souvenir!

I love hats but I'm not a hat person. They always make my head too warm and it just becomes more hassle than it's worth. Which sucks cause hats always look so cool and there's so many unique kinds you can get.

I find the longer my hair is, the less I can tolerate a hat.

Hats! My favorite topic! I have been wearing boonie style hats for years. I have worn out a large number of them, so many that I had to start making my own because I could not find the style I liked in stores anymore. And I make them on non-traditional colors. My most recent one is purple wool with a cotton lining!

I've got a corduroy flat cap that I bought back 2003 that I can't replace because they don't make it anymore.

I used to wear berets and flat caps pulled back all the time. I was gonna bring em back, and couldnt find them ANYWHERE. I resorted to getting one from Amazon and it was stuff, oversized and looked like a mushroom. Despicable. I cant seem to find one floppy and thin enough for the look I want.

It’s so tough shopping for hats online. A local hat store is where it’s at.

Hat gang here. I've got several flat caps (or what I call snap-brim) in my collection that I rotate frequently. Also ball caps (what the kids call "dad hats" these days), a trillby, and a proper fedora (beaver felt and everything). A friend just gave me an antique bowler, but it's too small for my noggin. I never leave the house without some kind of hat. Glad you found your white whale!

Hey Bill. I too love hats. I make a leather hat I refer as the new England bushwhacker. Made with veg tan leather. Sadly I had a house fire and I lost all of the ones I was making to sell. Just today I am making a new one. A first of many. I made a pirate hat also . that will have be remade also. .... Love your vids ...you make I'll watch them.

I daily wear hats now too. For the longest time I could not find a hat that fit me, my head and hair combined made it way too hard to find one, no standard hat size fit. Until one day, I had enough and posted to a hat subbreddit looking for a company that makes big hats. I got one, and have been wearing it ever since. It is a olive drab and khaki trucker style cap, soon to be embellished with a leather patch of my Ghostbusters franchise logo. Overall I veiw hats like the rest of my clothes and gear: functionality. I dont go so much for looks, but i do have a style i gravitate to, being trucker caps and outback hats. I have a outback hat that i had the same issue of with your hat, i cant find it online anywhere. It was my fathers, and technically still is, but i use it on hot summer days when i am out and about doing whatever outdoors, I like to wander. I have some pretty good memories involving that hat, and could go on and on about things but i will cut it short here. Thanks for letting me talk about hats!

Oooo! Liking this kind of video. Let's us get to know more about YOU personally. Also, just cuz I gotta, I wasn't sure if you knew, but the one you called a "military style", the name is called "cadet cap". I had to buy one for my Trainer Red cosplay from Pokemon Red&Blue.

I wore a similar snap style cap for years until I destroyed it putting out a carburetor fire in a friend’s car. Long story. That was one of the first hats I wore after getting out of the USAF when I swore off hats because they are mandatory in the military. Eventually I changed my mind because I wore glasses and rain makes seeing impossible. I tried cowboy hats and many other styles. Currently I have four fedoras that I trade off depending on weather because they go well with the shape of my head and beard (or so I’m told). I share your “can’t be bothered” hair styling attitude and these days appreciate the shade.
