‘Wildflower’ returning to the Top 25 and now having spent six months in the chart is impressive when you consider that it isn’t even a single. I’d be surprised if Billie and her team don’t push this in the New Year. Definitely not complaining that it’s sticking around either as the song’s fantastic! 😊

‘Die With A Smile’ is now estimated to be less than 1% in overall performance behind ‘A Bar Song’ according to TOTC. Next week’s battle for #1 will be a very interesting one to keep an eye on. Either Shaboozey will tie the all-time record or it’ll be a sixth Hot 100 leader for Gaga and a ninth for Bruno.

1) Shaboozey's "A Bar Song" is only *1* week shy of tying Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' record for the longest-charting #1 hit of all-time! However, he has already broken the record for the longest-charting solo #1 hit of all-time. 🤓 2) Post Malone and Blake Shelton's "Pour Me A Drink" lasted *20* weeks! It won't make next year's Year-End Hot 100 but it's definitely making this year's Year-End Hot 100.

I wonder if a Linkin Park album bomb would even be possible? Rock hasn't been relevant on the hot 100 since the 2000s. And whenever older bands chart a new song, it's usually due to rock & alternative overplay. They also don't chart on the hot 100 for very long. Linkin Park also needs to be heavily promoted by the label, as much as any raoper or pop act.

My gosh, I think Love Somebody might be my new favorite ever Morgan Wallen song. I genuinely love the percussion and Morgan's vocal timbre, even if some of the wiry synths may not work for me when I'm not in the mood. That last one's a nitpick though, and it's certainly not enough to stop me from calling this amazing blend of hazy reverbed acoustics and drums one of the best country songs this decade. I am utterly stunned that this country star of all people managed to do Training Season by Dua Lipa better than the actual Training Season by Dua Lipa 😂

Love the Zach Bryan tracks, like usual, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by "Hard Fought Hallelujah". When I was a kid, I would listen to CCM all the time, because that's what my mom always played in the car. Then, once I realized all the songs sounded the same and kind of sucked (I hate the over-polished ccm sound), I completely stopped listening. When I saw this debuted, I gave it a listen, and was like "Damn, that's kind of got a groove!" Now, don't get me wrong, its not the best thing I've ever heard, but I think I might give some more CCM a chance now, just to see if there's more there than I thought.

I'm Catholic and I generally listen to secular (non-religious) music. There are times when I listen to Contemporary Christian Music. I listen to for KING & COUNTRY and Michael W. Smith because they make Christian Pop music that could fit on Adult Contemporary radio stations. If you want a song recommendation, I highly suggest for KING & COUNTRY's cover of the Michael W. Smith song, "Place in This World". They even got Michael W. Smith on the cover! I think that the cover and the original songs are great! 😊

Billboard Bubbling Under Top 25: November 23, 2024 (Primarily consisting of the 'Eternal Atake 2' falloff and a ton of interesting developments that could capitalize on big tracks falling off due to the holiday takeover that is coming up.) 1. Dreamin by PARTYNEXTDOOR (New) (I had a feeling this was going to see more traction than the songs from his last album, but I wasn't expecting it to nearly chart on the Hot 100 proper, and it could still do so given the streaming is surging somewhat.) 2. One Bad Habit by Tim McGraw (New) (I don't have a lot of faith in this charting properly, especially since this surged up massively on country radio which is mostly all this has and it might've peaked this week.) 3. Ends Of The Earth by Ty Myers (Re-Entry) 4. Labour by Paris Paloma (Re-Entry) (I don't have any logical reason why this resurged, especially on sales, since her debut project that contains this song dropped a few months back, beyond maybe her live session she recently did.) 5. Presidente by Gabito Ballesteros, Natanael Cano, Neton Vega & Luis R Conriquez (+2) 6. Little Things by Ella Mai (New) (It's interesting that she got one of the EP tracks to get more attention beyond the R&B atmosphere.) 7. Cowboy Songs by George Birge (+14) 8. Gonna Love You by Parmalee (+10) 9. Sounds Like The Radio by Zach Top (+5) 10. Boys Back Home by Dylan Marlowe & Dylan Scott (+10) 11. Just Like Johnny by Redferrin (+2) 12. That's Who I Praise by Brandon Lake (+10) 13. Escapate by Tito Double P & Chino Pacas (-3) 14. Regalo de Dios by Julion Alvarez (Re-Entry) 15. Carry You Home by Alex Warren (Re-Entry) 16. Soltera by Shakira (Re-Entry) 17. Let Her Cook by GloRilla (+8) 18. Messed Up As Me by Keith Urban (Re-Entry) 19. Hecha Pa' Mi by Grupo Frontera (Re-Entry) 20. Praise by Elevation Worship ft. Brandon Lake, Chris Brown & Chandler Moore (Re-Entry) 21. Devil You Know by Tyler Braden (Re-Entry) 22. Relapse by Warren Zeiders (Re-Entry) (It's finally got Nashville radio support so we'll see how far this goes.) 23. Bigger Houses by Dan + Shay (New) (I'm not surprised it took until now to get here with just radio traction alone.) 24. No Chill by PARTYNEXTDOOR (Re-Entry) (He likely got a proximity boost with his other track higher up.) 25. I Smoked Away My Brain (I'm God X Demons Mashup) by A$AP Rocky ft. Imogen Heap & Clams Casino (Re-Entry)

Next week could be a little quiet as the holiday music starts to make big returns, but we might see Tate McCrae's newest promo single for her next album dropping in February and a small album impact from Rauw Alejandro's 'Cosa Nuestra', given that streaming for some tracks have been holding decently well, as Linkin Park's 'From Zero' might not get any new tracks to impact proper.

BOTW: This World's A Giant - Both best spots can be interchangeable since their both Zach Bryan songs, so yeah. HM: High Road - Would've been the best spot if it hadn't debuted on a week where there's still a song titled High Road on this chart. DM: +57 - This feels like one of the leftover reggaeton songs that tended to debut randomly on the Hot 100 in the late 2010s. Also, I heard there was originally a controversy that caused a line to be changed so yeah. Also, screw you Feid, for having Karol G give the apology instead of YOU, the one who actually SAID the line. Oh, and thanks for that DISGUSTING line Maluma. Everyone seems to hate Gracie Abrams, but I've genuinely enjoyed a few of her songs. I've been listening to "That's So True" on repeat lately. I also really like "Risk," "Us," "I Love You, I'm Sorry," "Blowing Smoke," and "Close to You." I know she's a derivative artist, but I don't really care. Unlike people on Reddit or other social media sites, I don't think she's untalented. Like her peer Tate McRae, I think she's still figuring out her sound (Tate seems to work better on EDM/dance-pop songs. What does Gracie sound best on?) I know she's a nepo baby, and I know there are plenty of talented people out there who make better music, but I dont think she deserves half the hate ahe receives. I think it's awesome she got to open for Taylor Swift and has an album that's doing quite well. I would love to see her improve as an artist as well.

Song Thoughts: Mi Camino-Selena Gomez For starters, Emilia Perez is a movie people can watch. I haven't figured out an opinion on it I'm 100% comfortable with yet. You can have reasonable arguments about its quality on either side. Think the award for "Best Music-Related Movie of the Month" might have to go to Music by John Williams. Though I have heard that Wicked is surprisingly really good. Well after talking about how I had low expectations for this song, I will admit this is probably the best Selena Gomez I ever heard. 7 that's close to a 6/10. In a vacuum, it's decent radio filler. But as an Oscar winning song, really? If that happens, I don't think I know a single less special Oscar winning song in my life. And I'm aware of both If I Didn't Have You and Man or Muppet. This is why Disney Channel was no male kid's favorite channel growing up. The lyrics are fine, and the production is decent. But there's an occasional moment where I don't like the way it sounds like the opening. The last minute is cute though. Is this seriously as good as 2024 original movie music gets? The idea of this winning while Claw Machine doesn't get nominated is embarrassing. Just like how I Saw the TV Glow is a better LGBT movie than Emilia Perez. Then again, the Oscars are an award show. Which means they don't take music seriously as an art form. I learned to accept that I'm Gonna Love Me Again was the last time they gave the award to the best movie song of the year. At least this song isn't that atrocious autotune thing during the opening. If it does win, than why is it that the Oscar winning songs from this decade I consider to be lower than Really Enjoyable Tier are the non-english songs? I don't like that fact about myself. Yeah, I still find that other song to be good but overrated.

... continuing my commentary on the lists you posted, I once again can't say I'm surprised. Carnival is obviously the most heinous cultural presence on the entire year-end list, so it certainly earned that top spot (personally, I still have yet to listen to it, and I have no intention of seeking it out). On the other hand, I genuinely love Beautiful Things and have a weird soft spot for both Truck Bed and Cowgirls, so I probably disagree more with your list than I would've otherwise expected. Oh yeah, and High Road would easily be my pick for the top spot on a list like this; I'm still kind of in awe of how genuinely horrendous that song is on every level, and it's the only song to gain significant traction in 2024 whose awfulness genuinely stood out to me, so that's not a remotely tough call for me.

@@Oble_Noceda I mean, it's grown on me a ton over the year; I'd go so far as to say it's one of my favorite hit songs of the year. Basically in the same league as A Bar Song, Birds of a Feather, Euphoria, Like That, or Good Luck, Babe. That chorus is so insanely cathartic, and I certainly relate to the anxiety expressed. I will say, though, that I wish Benson Boone added some variety to his musical formula; I do really like a couple of his songs like Ghost Town, Little Runaway, or Beautiful Things, but I think his more recent output in particular does speak to an attempt to just recreate Beautiful Things.

I decided that for my song recommendations this week I'd opt to talk about several songs that charted in the recently reinstated Philippines Hot 100 that didn't do so well here in the US Hot 100. - Mantra by Jennie (I think I might have a bit more issues with the vocals now than I did on first listen, but still love that hook and production, and I am so glad Mark agrees in this song being fire 🔥 also happy that despite not doing well here it peaked in the Top 5 of the Philippine Hot 100) - Dilaw by Maki (It's the Filipino word for yellow. This seems to be more on the pop side of that synth pop and light rock fusion that Bahala Na by Keneniah was going for last year. And my God, I do agree with Maki that this song feels yellow as all hell. I love the vibes of this one, so glad it topped that chart at some point) - Sanctuary by Joji (I personally prefer Run, Die For You and Glimpse of Us in terms of Joji, but this is one of the only good things about the entire phenomenon of very old and already popular songs charting in the Philippines despite being past their relevance point) - Namumula by Maki (yet another synth pop jam from Maki, I like this one)
