Song Recommendations: Nice by Lex Bratcher and Phix: A cool rap tune, with interesting production, slick vocals, and awesome lyrics. Fun song! Call Me Sir by Train, Cam, and Travie McCoy: Yes, I’m recommending a Train song. But it’s really good. The production is fun, Pat sounds really good, Cam and Travie give good guest verses, and the lyrics are charming. Nice little tune. Bed by 9 by Big Time Maca: A funny and catchyl comedy song about going to bed by 9 o clock, with slick production, slick vocals, and funny lyrics. Oh and that female bed thing in the video is nightmare fuel. Be warned. Ferraris in The Rain by The Alchemist and ScHoolBoy Q: Another great Alchemist vibe, with slick production, great vocals, and good lyrics. Man don’t miss! Living In The Sunlight Loving In The Moonlight by Scary Jokes: A decent cover of an absolute classic, with solid production and good vocals. RIP Tiny Tim. Runtime by tOmpOt: A cool little bop, with fun production, slick vocals, and enjoyable lyrics. Not bad.

Billboard Bubbling Under Top 25: September 21, 2024 (A pretty interesting list we got this week) 1. No One Noticed by The Marias (+4) (I would like to say this and #4 could crossover next week, but without stronger streaming that might be more difficult than expected.) 2. I Never Lie by Zach Top (+7) (I bet that when this crosses over to the Hot 100, "Sounds Like The Radio" might show up here given the radio traction, no pun intended.) 3. 4x4xU by Lainey Wilson (New) (I knew that this was getting pushed by Nashville Radio as the next single from 'Whirlwind', but I wasn't expecting it to show up here this fast. Shame that it's not one of the better tracks from the album even though it's a fine enough song. 4. Juna by Clairo (=) 5. Praise by Elevation Worship ft. Brandon Lake, Chris Brown & Chandler Moore (+9) 6. Worst Way by Riley Green (+2) 7. Devil You Know by Tyler Braden (-1) 8. This Is My Dirt by Justin Moore (+7) 9. No Chill by PARTYNEXTDOOR (+3) 10. Carry You Home by Alex Warren (+3) 11. Someone In This Room by Jessie Murph & Bailey Zimmerman (New) (I was expecting this to be the only crossover that Jessie Murph was getting from her newest album release.) 12. Make You Mine by Madison Beer (-1) (Its airplay traction seems to be steadily dropping, which is keeping it here.) 13. Regalo de Dios by Julion Alvarez (+6) 14. World Tour (Aquafina) by Juice WRLD (New) (Both this and #25 came from the Pre-Party EP that dropped in the middle of the tracking week.) 15. That's Who I Praise by Brandon Lake (+7) 16. Fix What You Didn't Break by Nate Smith (+1) 17. What He'll Never Have by Dylan Scott (+4) 18. Ego by Halsey (New) (The newest single, which is being pushed to pop radio, for her upcoming album 'The Great Impersonator' dropping in October.) 19. El Lokeron by Tito Double P (New) (The other album cut that I've seen pick up some traction on streaming.) 20. 2 Slippery by Luh Tyler ft. BossMan DLow (-4) 21. Relapse by Warren Zeiders (-3) 22. Touch by KATSEYE (New) 23. Luna by Feid & ATL Jacob (Re-Entry) 24. Brokey by Latto (New) (An album cut from 'Sugar Honey Iced Tea' which has been holding better residual streaming than expected.) 25. Best: The Emptiness Machine (this is a wounded dog song. Sean coined this term for songs very difficult to listen to yet work because they show a huge sense of vulnerability and hurt. Despite being a retread of Numb, my favorite Linkin Park song, this is my favorite example of such. Said it before, say it again: only So American and Invincible Shield are better rock songs this year than this awesome fiery gem. Still don't know what to think of Emily, though.) HM: Ruby Rosary (sometimes, A$AP's verse can bore me and make me miserable. But other times... it's a transcendental vibe. Also while I turned on J Cole as a person [I genuinely loved his apology and was almost willing to forgive him until the depths of the transphobic line of Pi really sank into me], his verse here was fire. Time could age this very well. I can only hope.) HM: Dos Dias (only problem with this is that I have to listen to this on KZbin because MAAAAN is this a slog in the original tempo. Have to put the song in 1.25x speed, but once I do, THIS SHIT BE LIT!!!) ?: Disco (on one hand, this song is good. On the other, I would rather listen to Freaks. Still good, just not the version of this sound I quite like as much.) ?: Neva Play (pro: this sounds like phonk, and it's fire. con: step back by 1nonly and sxmpra exists and does this better. pro: the lyrics are mostly badass. con: the hook is too repetitive. pro: megan absolutely spits fire. con: rm is too dull against this production, and unlike the menacing and arrogant 1nonly on step back, RM's dullness does not come with any justification or presence. Yuki Chiba may have sounded sleepy on his verse in Mamushi but not only does RM sound worse here, but Yuki's contributions to that catchy hook with Meg on Mamushi were waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than RM's here.) DHMs and Worst in reply
@Oble_Noceda3 ай бұрын
DHM: Diet Pepsi (MAAAAAAAAAN, was this a shrinker. I kinda saw this to be a chil vibe, but all of that magic faded in record time. Addison... I hope you get better as an artist or find another calling you want and that you're good at.) DHM: Twerk (man, I really wanna see BossMan Dlow make a good song. Bini didn't impress me the first time with Da Coconut Nut and Strings, but Salamin Salamin won me over from them and made them click for me. I am waiting for a moment like that from Dlow. Admittedly this is a step in the right direction, as not only did he credit the creator of the original dance, the production of piano jolts is awesome as all hell.) Worst: Baby I'm Back (the original Baby Come Back by Player is very good, and I'll admit the sample flip here worked surprising well. Unfortunately I only like the intro because while the lyrics are not bad, Kid Laroi's performance is him at his worst. Thousand Miles executed this song better, dammit! I may absolutely despise Girls, but at least that had a cool production idea with him being deep-voiced over it for some moments. This squawking monster of a "comeback" should be disqualified from the game of Player!)

I dont get why people care so much about her past, but I do get their complaints that they believe they replaced her too fast. I think they should of at least talked to his family before they replaced him as his son and his mother have talked against replacing him. I think they are trying to dig up old stuff to get mad at Emily when they really have a problem with the entire band with him being replaced.

It's funny, I like "Emptiness Machine" a lot more (singer drama aside) and I never read it as being a shot at the fans; to me it just seems generally about capitalism limiting creativity and ambition. (As far as the drama, I'm generally mixed on it and willing to overlook it as long as nothing else comes out.) That said, I'm honestly more okay than most with LP occasionally being confrontational with fans, bc imo those fans *have* been unfairly hypercritical of the band doing literally anything different since Hybrid Theory. We can argue whether the music has been good enough to justify it (though I'm personally still intrigued about this new album), but I don't think they're wrong for being bitter at all the demands, and I'm more than okay with them plowing ahead in a new direction even if it doesn't appease millennial nostalgia and doesn't sound exactly like Chester.

Here’s the thing: I’m not against Linkin Park moving forward with a new vocalist, let alone a female. In fact I thought it’s a smart idea to get a woman to be the lead singer. The problem I have has WAY more to do with Emily still being a Scientologist. I gave her so much benefit of the doubt in the beginning but the more details that come out, the less patient I got. No, I’m not gonna say that Linkin Park “should’ve started a new band” or “should’ve changed their name” or all the other nonsense that the LP gatekeepers like to spew out. I want LP to move forward. I just thought Emily Armstrong was the poorest of choices and was a complete betrayal of what Chester Bennington advocated for. Mike Shinoda ultimately failed his fanbase, especially those who developed mental illnesses due to SA.

Song Thoughts: And When the Sky Was Opened-Ivan Campo When I saw the premiere for this song show up in my recommended, I was looking forward to it. Like I said multiple times, I think Golden Hair is a great song. One of the best I recommended too. The recommendations meant for one specific person don't count. The interesting thing is that I didn't truly realize how good it was until after I first talked about it. Since then, I listened to a few more songs from them. Dice Man is wonderful, and both The Bloodhound and the Fox and Wolf are very good. Apparently somebody who was on Epic Rap Battles of History one time is part of a band that makes good ass folk music. So time for the new so- Oh nooooo. So instead of utilizing talent, they instead used AI art. The group that made Golden Hair and Dice Man are average AI fans. I was just shitting on this earlier. They should've stuck with Lego stop-motion. Damn that rap battle between Doctor Doom and Dr. Doofenshmirtz in my recommended is looking good. The music video that's just a slideshow of AI art makes the visuals of The Story of Undertale look like Into the Spider-Verse in comparison. This is why when I first listen to songs, I don't usually do it by watching the music video. Because with this song, I was too distracted by how hideous the video was. The worst part is that this song currently isn't on Spotify, and there's no topic videos of it. So the only way to listen to it right now is through the repulsive video. Somebody in the comment section of the disgusting video said the video was spectacular. Fucking L. Oh yeah, the ugly Ass Intorableness video has a song attached to it. It's nice and got a smile out of me. It's that the best way to listen to it for now is to either go into a different tab or put down the phone and stare at a wall.

I like Emptiness Machine, and I like Lost despite its horrible music video. But One More Light will always be the last Linkin Park song to me. I was originally gonna say that even the best of their future stuff will still be Toy Story 4, but I realized I feel the same way about their future projects that I do about Shrek 5. I'm sure I'll like it, but it didn't need to be made because they already ended the main stuff perfectly, and they could've stuff with the bonuses made afterwards (finishing unfinished songs/the Puss in Boots movies. The difference is that the Puss in Boots movies had real people animate their projects like God intended). Emily Armstrong is basically a step parent to me. This song is not gonna start a rock revival. Like I said in one of Sean's polls, "rock is dead" is a very "I don't know any songs outside the mainstream" thing to say to me. In a way, it's the music equivalent of saying that 2D animation died. Rock never died. It just takes more effort to find it. It's now part of the world known as music outside Billboard. There's plenty of good songs in general outside Billboard like What You Know by Two Door Cinema Club. I personally love talking about songs not on the charts that people might not know about.

The greatest sound change was with Fleetwood Mac when Stevie Nicks stepped in for Peter Green. The band went from sounding like BB King to sounding like Taylor Swift. The old songs were gone from the live acts, but the strife and cocaine between the band members still existed. The sound change with Linkin Park is much less noticeable and seems to be good enough for the fans.

For me, I did want Linkin Park to come back after Chester’s passing, and I would have accepted Emily Armstrong as the replacement if I knew nothing about her past. I think the song does work from a construction stand point where you have Mike Shinoda take the first verse and chorus to ease the audience into Emily on the rest. Also, just on a raw performance standpoint she does have the voice that works for Linkin Park’s style. However, I can’t support them going forward with her. There are lines you don’t cross for me and one of them is supporting a convicted r*pist and harass the victims in the elevator.

I'm sorry, but bad take on "Diet Pepsi." Putting aside the song is great, I think this was too hard on Addison Rae herself. What people don't understand is when big social media influencers are pushed into the mainstream, whether it's music or movies, Hollywood just feeds them into the industry while completely ignoring their limits. That's what happened to Addison three years ago with a bad song like "Obsessed," a bad movie, a cringe SNL performance, and a disaster Met Gala outfit. Addison wasn't ready or prepared for this. I think working with Charli xcx and having newly found success with "Diet Pepsi," she's in a state that she's comfortable in. Not that I don't respect your opinion on the song, but the review did feel as if Addison isn't good because she's a TikToker at parts

I knew I’d see you here! I still haven’t heard the song since I’ve been busy but yeah, I totally see what you’re saying how the industry treats those who get viral success.
@jchmusic75873 ай бұрын
@riahlexington Yeah. I totally get not liking the song, but parts of the review, like criticizing Charli xcx for featuring her, just made it sound a bit unfair

BOTW: Disco. A cool little track, with a solid groove, fun vocals, and good lyrics. Great song! HM (Tie): The Emptiness Machine. So this is Linkin Park’s new song. Not bad. HM (Tie): Neva Play. A decent Megan song, with solid production, decent vocals, and fine lyrics. Pretty solid. HM (Tie): Ruby Rosary. A really cool track, with great production, chill vocals from Rocky and Cole, and cool lyrics. Really nice. HM (Tie): Baby I’m Back. Not as good as Cheyrl by Yung Gravy, but still a solid track that rides its sample effectively. DM: Dos Dias. More boring Peso Pluma nonsense. WOTW: Shake Dat A. Do I even need to say why this is WOTW? Look at that title.

Apparently today is National Fox Day. This is why there's a good reason to listen to Fleet Foxes today. My favorites from them are Helplessness Blues, Tiger Mountain Peasant Song, and Grown Ocean. White Winter Hymnal is one of my favorite Christmas songs.

Rm recorded his part before he went into the military anx it was his actual voice it wasn't messed with or anything and his rapping was freaking legendary even megan has said she's never heard Rm rap like that or has ever heard his flow like that ever. I mean people can hate it or think its trash but the views and the Bts army would disagree with you in that. Megan Thee Stallion also featured on a song bts made called Butter remix maybe you should check it out and see what you think then.
