I remember waking up Saturday mornings as a kid and watching bill dance, jimmy houston, Roland Martin and hank Parker. Man those were the days! Would be so cool to fish with such a legend!

I'd love to be a more versatile bass Fisherman, but the Texas rig has always been the most effective and it's what I stick with.

Carolina rig for me, been fishing a U tail worm with a split shot since I was knee high to a grasshopper. Tried and true all year. Just burn that sucker back to the boat/ bank

Hey Bill, GREAT show, I’m getting ready for my 2 day BFL Super Tournament on Lake Oconee, late September here in Georgia, THANK YOU for ALL of your wisdom and knowledge in bass fishing, YOU are the reason I wanted to be a Professional Bass Fisherman, I really would like to meet you, My Mentor, one day and go fishing, after all, I learned how to set the hook from you and I’m very PROUD to have learned , not only that , but to enjoy what I do as a fisherman, I’m still on the journey, and Dream Big, of the day I can make a living from bass fishing, I can still recall watching you EVERY Saturday after Mid-South Wrestling with Lance Russell and Dave Brown on WHBQ in Memphis Tennessee, then waiting at the end to learn about the lures you used and bought from Surplus City, then , I would BEG my parents to take me there so could get the same lures you had and used, THANKS Bill, I REALLY appreciate you, God Bless, and my FAVORITE blooper segment is when you were at Reelfoot Lake, you were drifting and you put your hand on a tree that was sticking out of the water and the tree broke and you lost your balance, I can still see that footage now, I can’t THANK YOU enough for what you have done for me in my journey, THANKS again Bill 🎣

Purple Tom manns plastic worm Texas rigged ahhh the good ole days. Me and my brother saved our money got a pack pack in I would say 1982 and I didn’t think they would work because we were using live frogs, leeches, worms, and basically anything we could catch. We were fishing from shore and just casted and reeled in and absolutely hammered 1 to 3 pound bass. The stringer was almost to heavy ride a bike back home. Now I have a tackle boxes of lures all over the place and haven’t eaten a bass in fifteen years I only catch and release.

It's funny how everyone has different experiences with different bait. Personally I have the best luck with top water lures like Buzz Bait.

What i dont understand is how you work a texas rig. With wacky, you basically just let it fall, reel up, flip, fall, repeat. With a drop shot I'm casting and basically letting is sit or slowly reel. bounce it off the bottom slowly?
@clay75145 ай бұрын
Let it fall on semi slack line all way to the bottom.Pick rod tip up 6 inches or so with slow hops. Slowly crawl It over cover. Alotta hits happen on fall or as soon as it hits the bottom for me
@rwoody005 ай бұрын
@@clay7514 I will say I adjusted my weight down (used a 3g egg sinker) some and felt like it had a better glide action. I was using 3/8 tungsten before...

Feels weird watching a "real" one. At any moment I'm expecting the camera man to fall into the water or the outboard motor taking off on its own.

I cringe every time he lips a bass. He holds them horizontally and likely inflicts serious injuries to their jaw. Old timer should know better.
