Yup, where Earl had a Freudian slip and said the wrong ball, despite clearly aiming at a different one and shooting it dead into the corner pocket, and Jayson decided to throw the rule book at him. Earl decided to quit the match over it, which was the only real thing left to do IMO.

@@gregaclark2 I remember watching it too. Thing is, the rules are there for a reason and in no rule book i've ever read has it said "Freudian slips may be excused by the discretion of the opponent". If i was playing a friend in a pool match for a lot of money and my friend had a Freudian slip, i'd be throwing the rule book at him as well if he tried to get away with it. :)

A good example of how important mental strength is for our game. Earl played a nearly perfect match and leads 5:0, but Jasons brutal strong comeback puts Earl under pressure although he was leading. In the end, as so often in such matches, the player with the better break and more consistent safety play won. One of Earls best matches in the last years. He's still a great player when he can focus and keep his emotions under control.Unfortunately, it seems that his emotional maturity hasn't increased over the years. However, Earl's technique still fascinates me - his stroke is a treat for any true pool fan!

I got so tired of the announcers stating that the game was over every time after the break or one or two shots, that I muted the video. I enjoyed the last few games much better without hearing them say the game was over before they players had even taken a shot. Also, they are wrong about 50% or more of the time when they try to tell us which way the pros are about to shoot. Better for me to just mute, watch, enjoy and learn with silence.

On every match everybody plays, to alleviate discrepancy, they should have laser lights above the table that shows exactly where the line of the kitchen is and where the break box is, if that is the rule, and an outline or a vertical or horizontal line showing where the rack should be or the 8, 9, or 10 ball, then after the cue ball is placed and the shooter is stroking to make the break shot, the laser lights should be turned off..... Just a thought. 🤔
