I'm most surprised that she hasn't seen whales in the wild but lived in California! I saw blue whales by Newport Beach in a half hour boat ride and saw a pod of Orcas near Seward, Alaska (the only two times I spent any amount of time by the ocean). They are amazing creatures and some of my best memories.
