Changing the new Deere 2032R to winter mode

To make life easier when working those large tires, get yourself a tire spoon. It's nothing but a steel bar about two feet long with a pointy end, and a flat spoon shape on the other end. You jack the tractor just a bit higher than needed, put the pointy end through the wheel hole at the top, then into the bolt hole in the flange. When you pry up from the other end it will lift the wheel and align the bolt hole. I used to work for Goodyear. It's a trick an old timer taught me. Just use care not to bugger the threads. On the PTO button.... See if there is a turn to lock in the far outer position. Sometimes they have that to disable the reverse lockout. Good luck. Sure is one fine new toy.

Use a coating like a liquid bed liner on the bottom of the deck. Stops rust and also works to keep the deck from being dented from rocks when mowing. Not a thick coat, a thin to medium coat. There is a lot of lawn mowing companies here doing this to protect there expensive commercial mowers. Its pretty cheap to do yourself during the winter. I have personally seen some sandblast all of there deck and coat the whole thing in this idea even.

Hey Bill, leave the spring loaded handles flipped up on the deck before you drop it, the deck will drop all the way and you wont have to redo it every time.

That extra bar that you mentioned on the front of the mower deck is probably an extra wear plate. That would be my guess. Great video as always Bill.

Looking at the front wheels, can you not put the left wheel on the right and right on the left side so the valves are on the out side ? Or do they only fit one way

Bill, might want to swap those front tyres around, that way the rims will be facing outwards like they're meant too, and you'll still have your tread facing the right way.

The factory put the front tires on the rims backwards. That can damage the valve stem, you might want to take them to a tire shop and get the problem fixed soon. don;t wait!

Bend a spacer out of spring steel so when the button is pulled up the spring steel holds it high enough to override the backup disengage. You could still shut the pto off just like before too,

That bottom bar on the deck is made to wear out instead the deck being scraped away.

Exactly as you said. Just like on a bucket, it has a removable blade instead of the whole bucket, you replace just that strip instead of the whole deck.

but the bottom not supposed to touch the ground when cutting, that's what the wheels are for. the bar does not make sense.

Very true also, the deck shouldn't touch the ground hence why it has wheels. What actually happens is the grass wears on that area since the deck is lower then the grass. Even though grass is "soft" it can do its number over time. Plus the hard stick like grass he talks about doesn't help much either.

Make those back wheels easier on yourself, bill. I see it has bolts instead of studs. Get yourself some threaded rod the same diameter and pitch as the bolts. Cut two a few inches longer than the bolts. Cut a slot in one end of them and grind a taper in also. Thread them in opposite sides, slide your wheel in place, the modified bolts will align the wheel, just install the remaining bolts, remove the alingment bolts with a screwdriver, and install your remaining two bolts. All done, and no fighting the heavy wheel :-)

Robert S these are just used to align the wheel to the hub, after the other factory wheel bolts are installed, these are removed and the remaining two bolts are installed in place.

Paint the underside of the deck with "Slip-Plate" paint and the wet grass won't be able to stick to it. Helps the deck to last much longer.

Hey bill u need to get a spud wrench for getting the hub hole lined up to your tire or you can make one with a piece of round bar. I made one when i was a mechanic for aligning Volkswagen tires (same design). Just push it in hole and it will line right up make two of them and never fuss with that again. love your videos and keep them coming

take the tireon the front right and put it on the left and the one on the left to the right that way they will be the proper direction and the valve stem will be on the outside

The reverse PTO safety overide is no big deal. I have it on my little tractor and it bothered me at first but it becomes second nature to pull it up just before stepping on reverse. I don't even think about it anymore. You'll get used to it. The oversized knob is easy to grab while holding your beer too ;)

You're going to have to add a wire from the battery to connect your 12v powered fuel pump. You added a 12v "+" terminal to the tractor that you traded in. Maybe this time you can do it without shocking yourself.

You can run a jumper across two of the terminals on the back of the PTO switch and eliminate the reverse lockout- you have to check which terminals for your series...

That pto switch should pop out with a pocket screwdriver....there should be enough wire free to get the plug off.

Those switches,AM-118820, are designed to be pulled on and do not pop out. I have tried to remove them, and even with access to the back of the switch, the tabs always break. I just go ahead and break the tabs and get another one.

1. The front plates you took off, you shouldn't of had to swap. If you look at the ones you had on originally, they have an offset pressed into the plate. 2. set the quick hitch on your floor jack and let it do the heavy lifting. 3. Maybe a cloths pin might be called for by one of the problems you mentioned in the video.

That plate on your deck is to add support for driving over the deck.

Just make an "H'' frame wheeled dolly for under that heavy front tractor attachment. When it's time to install it you can roll it under and because the dolly is in an H shape you can use a floor jack to raise it up into position.

The PTO switch is on the transmission. Its always open unless your in reverse, so just unplug it!

there is ways to bypass that RIO switch, some time on google will help. you can disconnect under the dash, or unplug the sensor on the pedal.

anyone else think there's a lifter tick? I know diesels have extra noises that regular gas engines do not, but for some reason it kind of sounded like, at one point in the video, there was a lifter tick in the engine. Unless that's just because it's a new engine and stuff making it sound a bit different.

BILL, you panic too much about a simple switch, there is eather a voltage controlled latch or a solinoid release. If its too hard for you, then make a small flap on a hinge to keep the button up, easy :-)

He knows that the valve stems should be on the outside but he installed the tires so that the tread pattern is facing the correct direction. Unfortunately the tires were installed on the rims backwards.

by now u prob figured it out. that "RIO" switch can be disabled. You need to find out which contacts on the switch close when u pull the switch out and put a jumper on those contacts the same way you did for the seat. After I got my X738, within 2 hours of getting it I had my seat and the RIO switch disabled.

Our X530 is the same way. but one guy here on youtube, i can't remember his username, (this is for our 530) fabricated up a solid piece of plastic and sticks it in there whenever he uses the PTO. my idea for that switch of yours though, 1) try this: www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-owning-operating/287024-how-do-you-rig-jd2032r-2.html 2) there should be a way to get underneath to the pedals, and disable it there. or just replace it. that actually is your best bet. i was just looking on john deere's website, here's a part # for the switch: AM127393 Now, i don't know if this is the one with the pulll up (RIO) or without RIO. if it is the one with, ignore it. if not, there u go. :D

The safety in the seat is in case you fall off and the pto safety is to add an extra step for when you back up so you don't mow over anything. I have disabled the pto safety switch on my lawn mower

the pto problem i would follow the pedel linkage back to ur hydrolic swash plate the wlll be a switch for reverse i just unhook it and the tracor think u never use reverse BILLSTMAXX :)
