Hey MAG, the Old Fort picture, I think that was the Maxwell house. That put me back when Billy was there. Misty and I agree. The croquet photo seems hoaky to me as well. As if the background with the house and the people are separate pictures. Then super imposed if that makes sense. Congrats on almost 3000 subs.👍

You mentioned Garrett's alcoholism . It's been years since I've read Pat Garrett The Story Of A Western Lawman by Leon Metz. That's one thing I do remember about that book. Things were not going well at all for Garrett in his later years. John Tunstall does look like Clapton in that one photo. Another great show Michael!!

I keep missing these live streams! I always found that croquet photo kind of sketchy, even though the t.v. documentary does make it believable until you start looking at some of the faces, like the lady who suppose to be Sallie Chisholm.

The cemetery was washed away in 1908 flood of Pecos River. Nothing is in those graves.

If there was a drought earlier in the year followed a later monsoon, the trees wouldn’t have necessarily recovered so a monsoon definitely doesn’t mean the trees would have leaves in late Autumn. E.g. 4 months of drought (spring to summer) followed by a month of rain (autumn) would be likely to leave the trees bare as autumn isn’t a growth period no matter how wet. Also dry ground would absorb a lot of water, washing away key nutrients in the top soil. Would take months to recover. Can’t rule the area out because of a period of rain.

Maybe so. I’m no expert. I have lived in NM for almost 30 years through exceptional drought conditions and never once did the trees lose their leaves or fail to have them grow. But. That’s just my experience

I’m at the ranch where my son works outside of Ft Sumner . I went to the cemetery today . I will be leaving Wednesday and will stop and take a picture and see if the rocks are still where you’re showing where Billy Barlow is , if you’d like .

As you were talking & throwing out suggestions on why the dig up and then the re burry, the first thing that came to mind was maybe the skeleton would have been significantly either shorter or taller than Billy. And just maybe he was a close relation to the Maxwells, (Barlow ) legal or bastard, and was asked to put Barlow in the vicinity. Also, wouldn't it had been obvious to any relation to the Maxwells that visit the cemetery that a strange grave had been put in the family plot?

Just had a thought (did you see the smoke?) How fantastic would it be to see all of your books come to life in a somewhat same way that Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, 6666 is being put out. I think the BTK universe would be unstoppable. What I wouldn't give to see that happen too. Like Sederwall said, can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.

If you did a small amount of research you would know the cemetery was washed away when the Pecos river flooded in 1908 washing away all the grave's.

You stated that Tunstall’s property ended up in McSween hands, this is false, Dolan ends up with it. which always puzzled me as he illegally gained it through a corrupt judge, and not a soul from Mr. Tunstall’s family ever sued the government for this. Oddly Tunstall himself had gained the property through shady practice himself, so maybe justice was poetic here?

I should add she tried to gain, but i’m sure you remember Evans and Campbell’s actions with occurring one night where a certain one armed attorney is not only shot and killed, but covered in alcohol. and set afire. Which would ultimately set motion forward for Billy’s pardon which was rebuffed on with regards to the Brady incident.

I have a question, since your so adamant that Brushy Bill isn’t BK, why are you hanging onto BK birthplace is New York! There is absolutely no evidence that Katherine McCarty or BK for that matter was ever in New York. Or Indiana . Not that I’m shelling for Brushy Bill. I’m not. It really makes no nevermind to me.
