Lyrics:
You're a big boy now
You'll never let her go
But that's just the kind of thing
She ought to know
Tell her about it
Tell her everything you feel
Give her every reason to accept
That you're for real
Tell her about it
Tell her all your crazy dreams
Let her know you need her
Let her know how much she means
Billy Joel's official KZbin channel features music videos, live performances, interviews, TV appearances and more. Best known for his first hit song, 'Piano Man', in 1973, Billy has written and recorded thirty-three Top 40 hits in the United States. He is a six-time Grammy Award winner, a 23-time Grammy nominee and one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, having sold over 150 million records worldwide. Billy Joel is the sixth-best-selling recording artist and the third-best-selling solo artist in the United States.

not only is this such a great song, but it's great advice too! people in the comments seem to be talking about love confessions, whereas i feel this song is more about how communication is vital when you're in a relationship! it can be easy to let your insecurities get the better of you which your partner might see as distance between you, so instead of putting on a poker face, just be honest and open with your feelings, and your partner will be happy to hear it! 💕

Listen boy I don't want to see you let a good thing Slip away You know I don't like watching Anybody make the same mistakes I made She's a real nice girl And she's always there for you But a nice girl wouldn't tell you what you should do Listen boy I'm sure that you think you got it all Under control You don't want somebody telling you The way to stay in someone's soul You're a big boy now You'll never let her go But that's just the kind of thing She ought to know Tell her about it Tell her everything you feel Give her every reason to accept That you're for real Tell her about it Tell her all your crazy dreams Let her know you need her Let her know how much she means Listen boy It's not automatically a certain guarantee To insure yourself You've got to provide communication constantly When you love someone You're always insecure And there's only one good way To reassure Tell her about it Let her know how much you care When she can't be with you Tell her you wish you were there Tell her about it Every day before you leave Pay her some attention Give her something to believe 'Cause now and then She'll get to worrying Just because you haven't spoken For so long Though you may not have done anything Will that be a consolation when she's gone Listen boy It's good information from a man Who's made mistakes Just a word or two that she gets from you Could be the difference that it makes She's a trusting soul She's put her trust in you But a girl like that won't tell you What you should do Tell her about it Tell her everything you feel Give her every reason To accept that you're for real Tell her about it Tell her all your crazy dreams Let her know you need her Let her know how much she means Tell her about it Tell her how you feel right now Tell her about it The girl don't want to wait too long You got to tell her about it Tell her now and you won't go wrong You got to tell her about it Before it gets too late You got to tell her about it You know the girl don't want To wait, you got to Tell her about it

I listened to this song a lot after my Grandmother died. I felt like I never really told her how much I loved her. I hope she knew. Always tell everyone how you feel about them, tomorrow isn't always promised.

I miss music when it was this innocent and carefree. Fun tunes, catchy beats and meaningful lyrics. No sex, drugs, over-sexualized dancers, and people of different ethnicities dancing together. Times were much simpler back then.

So around his time of year. My family would all come together to celebrate the holidays. However a couple years back my two older sister had other plans and that REALLY upsets my mother. She crying and being really sad about it. My solution? I asked Alexa to play Billy and by convenience songs like “My life” “movin’ our” “You May be right” and “tell her about it”. All songs about living life how you want to live or telling someone something important, which made my mom realize my sisters are adults and they can do what they want. My mom felt alone but she wasn’t I reminded her she had me. So thank you Billy. For helping my mom realize she wasn’t alone for the holidays.

As a kid in the 80s I always loved how BILLY Joel had a lot of songs with that 50's 60's doo-op sound. 💗 he plays a lot of tribute to it in his videos too.

+Aaron Johnston it happens, sometimes someone can claw their way out of that dark pit known as the friend zone. I did it once, wasn't pretty, it took 4 years and lots, and I mean lots, of "subtly" showing I care. By subtly I mean showing it as much as possible until she felt sorry for me.
