What they should do, is make them be personally responsible for a wrongful conviction, and subject to lawsuits by those who have been proven innocent/not guilty. Until that happens, they'll lie there asses off just to get a conviction for their records! I'd love to see this happen to at least one of them, then we'll see them all scurrying around like cockroaches trying to hide.

That Martinez heard 2 gun shots and didn't call 911? Did the cops ever thought that Martinez could of been the robber? That was my first thought, they were there filling air when all this happen and not suspicious it might of been artinez? I have the feeling it was Martinez
@jazzney21
@jazzney21 4 жыл бұрын
I dont think its Martinez because his sketch of the person he saw leave the store closely matches the description of the second witness, also he did not pick him out of the line up the first 4 times he was asked until 8 years later when he was clearly coerced to do so by the "cops" i believe the killer had long hair the only thing in common with this poor guy. 😑 If Martinez did it, they will find out once they check the DNA found at the crime scene...The DNA LE has refused to test against this poor guy. I am glad he finally has a voice.

My sister in law lost full custody of her daughter in Illinois because her ex husband and his girlfriend (that he had a year long affair with and deserted his family for) claimed her new boyfriend touched her inappropriately. But there was video proof that they coerced her into saying it. And the ex and his gf both worked in the criminal justice system. Once full custody was given to the ex, they all of a sudden decided to drop the accusations and said oh the child lies sometimes. Um, what? No they lied. Illinois won't give her custody back.

He needed a top of the line defense attorney. Every person does when you are on trial for your life. They cost a lot but how much is your freedom worth to you ?? Sell your house, have your parents take out an equity loan on theirs, take out loans. It’s possible. My family isn’t rich and my family came up with $100,000 cash within hours to release me from Dupage County Jail in Wheaton, IL after I turned myself in for being indicted by my old boss claiming I stole around $12k over a 7 year period. I hired and fired 5 attorneys because I needed to find a bulldog which I did. They wanted me to serve 5 years in jail yet I never even got a speeding ticket or any proof I took anything just a doctors word against mine. We went to trial and I was found not guilty. The attorney Cost my family $120,000 plus the $100,000 to bail me out. That’s what you have to do in this country unfortunately. It’s not based on innocence or guilt it’s based on what kind of attorney you can afford. OJ murdered Nicole but his Million dollar dream team got him off. Every single person I know who used a fucking public defender ended up being screwed and they lost.

Our so-called justice system is so corrupt and flawed. This case is one of many that is an example of over zealous cops and prosecutors abusing the system just to put someone away. If anybody deserves to be in jail are those over zealous people.

Does seem like a terrible injustice was done to this man. Wrongful incarceration pay should be paid to him and immediate release.

I ask God to reveal the truth EVERYDAY. My heart tells me Jamie is innocent and had ABSOLUTELY no knowledge of this. Reasonable doubt????? Come on people, set this Man free with $20 Million in his account. I'll continue to pray!!! It's the best I can do.

I’m from Bloomington, I can tell you the police are shady asf. I was wrongfully convicted of burglary and sentenced to probation and years of getting denied from countless jobs. I couldn’t imagine a murder OMG

Let me get this straight, there were 6 people in that lineup bad the witness got it right on the fifth try? The first time the witness says it's either 3 or 4. The police wasn't happy with that answer, so the next time the witness picks someone else, say 1. Not happy with that either? OK, lets try 2 then. Ah, not happy with that one either? Right, um, lets try FIVE yes must have been five then. That's four fails and five out of six. No wonder he picked the "right" guy on his fifth try. HOW. HOW could this be used as evidence in court? It's ridiculous! The prosecutor in this case should be stripped of their degree and sent to jail. Holy crap.

They have to let him out and pay him for the 17 years which have been stolen from him, there is a killer out there laughing himself silly. There isn't much time so pass the partition to President Trump, I would do it myself but I am not an American, Please Please do it NOW this man is innocent, I can't sleep at night for thinking about this poor man and his family.

McClane County should be ashamed of themselves!! You know if men in law in general didn't have such ego's and balls it takes to admit their errors, this poor Father would've seen his kids grow up. They're pitiful excuses and probably know who the real killer is anyway. Karma sucks for liars!!

The investigators didn’t find the real perpetrator. One day a kinda wild guy that always gets into minor trouble is brought in. So they think, “why can’t it be him, he has given us enough sh*t”. It’s easy to make this Martinez be a witness as there was a reward and maybe the guy had also something hanging above his head... Al the rest is fabrication and badmouthing Jamie. It’s so easy to harass Jamies family and to threaten his sister in law. To me the cops didn’t find the perp. or they did and it was someone they had to protect... so we’ll get a scapegoat. I’m sure that if they hadn’t homed in on Jamie some other innocent sod would be sitting in that cell. I do wonder what’s the problem with testing the DNA? Jamie is a lucky guy to have his family stand by him all the way. I really do hope that he gets free so that he can still enjoy his family and even gets to hold his first grandchildren.
