It was amazing growing up in the '80s how one unforgettable, iconic song after another would hit the radio year after year. Many of them were part of movie soundtracks. But they all felt like they refreshed, renewed and reinvigorated your life with new, positive energy and excitement. And, today, as an adult, they bring back wonderful memories of more peaceful, easier, happier times.

I remember hearing this song as a little kid in the mid-1980s Last week I saw the video for the first time. To see Kathleen Turner, Danny DeVito and Michael Douglas up there on-stage and putting on such an enjoyable show as 'back-up' singers was brilliant. They were in perfect synchronisation with the music and the dance routine Billy Ocean clearly loved it as his grin at them shows, and they obviously enjoyed it too. I wonder how long it took them to learn the routine? And yes, it was the song for the film, The Jewel of the Nile. I put this video up on my mother's smart tv for the whole family to watch as it was Mother's day on Sunday in the UK. They hadn't seen it before and they gasped when they turned around too as I originally did. They loved it 😃👍

@@bartsullivan4866 As time passed, they gravitated towards music that is easier and easier to make. That's what happened. Look at hiphop... They lost singing in key, gave up on tempo & rhythm, and now they're giving up following any sort of rules in their... music, if you wanna call it like that. The lyrics are shallow, the artists have no real talent because it's just about sound bites now. When he was a Criminal Court Judge he would give 20 year, 30 year, 40 year sentences and the defendants would just take them like it was nothing. He said he hoped just one person would have said, "No Judge, you ani't giving me that sentence". And he would have taken it back. But no one never did.
