It was amazing growing up in the '80s how one unforgettable, iconic song after another would hit the radio year after year. Many of them were part of movie soundtracks. But they all felt like they refreshed, renewed and reinvigorated your life with new, positive energy and excitement. And, today, as an adult, they bring back wonderful memories of more peaceful, easier, happier times.

They don't come any better than this classic performance by the superb Billy Ocean and his fabulous band - and Kathleen Michael and Danny make it a joy to watch - they're obviously having such fun!

+irishxxkelt When pop stars were real song writers. The 70s and 80s produced so much good music and genres I think its hard to say which decade was better. Id say the 80s vibe was definitely defined by the synthesizer which is perhaps more pertinent today.

The 90s was a great decade for the most part, but it dropped off in the late 90s for me. The 80s was strong all the way through.

This song was so important to me when I had pneumonia when I was 15 and now 35 years later battling CVid. When the going gets tough, nothing gonna hold me back as I head to getting better and climb that mountain. Great song and video.

Remember this song from Jewel of the nile! Great movie.... What a powerfully nostalgic song! Billy Ocean's voice is just so good, such a big part of the 80s vibe!

Me and my best friend in junior high and high school loved the Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile movies. This is such a great, positive song that really picks me up when I’m down. I don’t know much about Billy Ocean, but he had some unforgettable songs, especially this one!!!
