Lovely, boys. I can’t watch when you have light shows due to epilepsy, so I love these outdoor events. The opening brought me back to the old days, feedback entroit and all! Gotta change up your set, though, kids. Rev. Peyton’s Dirt, the ole Last Train to Clarksville, something like Thunderstruck or other Britishness, and how about Thank God and Greyhound, for a smile. Still, great set, well done. Ole son, you have mastered the arts of Appalachian intonation! I tried to find a single student who could sneak up on the home note like that for thirty years of teaching! So glad now I have a new generation to hear, even if you weren’t my student I am proud of you ole son.

Sometimes the gremlin's mess up your sound and you can't do anything about it. Sometimes the sound man gets sick and a well intentioned sound man sets in but, can't or don't know how to do what needs to be done. Wish I'd have been there to help. Guessing since it was a BMI production the weather was on the gremlin's side this night. Great job by the band though.

The boys in the band were pretty calm about the feed back but it was ridiculous...a 40 minute for BMI and the sound tech was still flying the faders and sweeping the the EQ...

Those fig-8 mics are sometimes a challenge indoors with a bad set-up. It was a very, very poor mic choice for the location; outdoors, with rooftop wind, all that safety glass surrounding them... it's recipe for disaster with any given wind change, even for the most experienced engineer. They're probably not even on a riser, so there's direct line crowd interference too (the design of the mic). But, I wasn't there, and I don't know anyone who was, so what do I know. But yes, you're right, the boys were Pro's and did the best they could with what they had, and that will take them a long way too.

Thompson was probably too rich, this brightness cuts through in an outdoor venue. I had an old Sears Daisy take your head off outdoors.
