Saw the original Allman Brothers twice in 1970 & as good as this is it's very calm & tame compared to Duane & Dickey & a band that played as if all the volcanos on the planet were going off at once!!! Great vibes here but i would not compare it to The Allmans in full swing mode. Saw them play at RFK & at American University 1970. Best shows i ever saw hands down.

dont ya think in order to be considered great you should at the very least put out an album of your greatest hits. You know, ORIGINALS. Trucks and the rest of the allmans have numerous original albums. Then and only then, cover other artists work. Breaking this cycle seems sacrilegious. No offense as the guy is obviously talented but since he's broken on the scene, i cant recall hearing or knowing one of his original songs. Theres thousands of musicians who can cover just as good as Billy. Why arent they in the limelight?

Wow man! When I first saw his name tonight, I was a bit put off.. But, hey I'm a Black Sabbath fan, and I like to see other bands do War Pigs. So I watched that video. Was thinking damn, that was a bit different, but stayed in the spirit of the song, and sounded great too! Then I get to this video. Ok dude, I clicked this one cause i know of Derek Trucks (son of Butch), and because it was very recent.Yeah this whole band including Derek killed it, but I'm just blown away by this Billy Strings dude! lol. Serious. And laughing too. I watched a few more of his videos. The guy can sound like so many different singers. His guitar/instrument playing is just mind-blowingly good. I see this young man going a long way. I think he can actually meld bluegrass and hard rock on a record and combine his fan base. ;) But Billy, please put out a hard rock/metal(ish) record. I know it'd be good. That's what's a trip too, is he knows how to meld all these unusual instruments into a hard rock song. I love it. Carry on Brother. You gonna do good things imho. New FAN here!!!
