Was at the TTB Ryman show on this night - the audience had no idea that Derek slipped out during intermission, ran across the street - played a few songs - then ran back and played a killer 2nd set & had Lucas Nelson drop into our show! What a night friends!

I disagree; Derek has the chops, but Duane had the fire and the SOUL. Plus Derek has had a lot longer to woodshed than Duane did. I'd have to relegate him to the #2 spot. Just my opinion...and you know what those are like...

The soundman sounds like hes keeping Derek's full tone out of the PA. I hope that wouldn't leave a bad taste in Dereks mouth and keep him from doing more when hes available. He has HUGE ears and just knows.
