This song came out a few months before my dad passed unexpectedly and those two things became inextricably linked for me. Now, every time I hear it I'm taken back to that time, and feeling both the love I have for him, and the pain of that loss come right back to the fore... Because of that, for me, this song is an anthem/ode to my dad, and that makes it one of the most powerfully moving songs in the world to me and I just wanted to say "thanks" for that...

We try to stay young, by chasing the sun You blink for too long, the swans sing a song And all that I've lost, and all that I've won Don't mean nothing more when you open your eyes and they're gone After all we've been told, we're still flesh and bone And life's worth much more than silver and gold And all that I've lost, and all that I've won Don't mean nothing more when you open your eyes and they're gone And how could it be that we'll never see The first day of spring and the last autumn leaves? So lost in my mind, I try to stay strong If wounds heal in time, tell me why it's so hard to move on Hard to move on I'll never move on I curse the mistakes that we'll never make The pictures of trips that we'll never take And all of these thoughts, they keep me awake Hang on to your heroes before it's too late 'Cause there'll come a time when you open your eyes and they're gone Some day they're gone Some day they'll be gone And I'll still be here chasing the sun

These guys continue to amaze me with everything they come out with. We met them at summer fest in Milwaukee probably 10 or twelve years ago and at a bunch of different venues got to hang with them before and after numerous shows. The way that they treated my children was incredible I give these guys the utmost respect, all amazing guys. One of the coolest bands lyrically to ever exist. Keep up the good work. Unfortunately my son and I spoke with Jon very briefly at a show at the house of blues here in Vegas about 7 years ago and they haven't been in the area since. So BT get your agent to get some shows booked here in the southwest!!

Are you daft? This song is about Aarons brother who past away recently. It's a tribute song to him. Not everything is about what you want.. This kind of song would make no sense to be a high tempo hard rock song.
@will94445559 жыл бұрын
***** I know its not about what I want. Most of their new stuff has been similar to this less aggressive sound but fairplay this song was about his brother passing away but it's not my fault I didn't know that is it, we can't all be their number 1 biggest fan ever. we aren't all that keen. I love them but I just am stating an opinion. Not everything is about what I want, nor did I ever say it was, I was just having my input which perhaps you might not want to hear but I'm sure I'm not the only BT fan thinking it and I'm sure they appreciate my input. Besides I barely even stated an opinion, you over reacted massively. All I did was state a fact that they have changed a lot. Grow up.

This song makes me think of my dear friend and teacher Victor, who passed away last year. He was so young, so clever, so kindhearted and willing to help you whenever you asked him for. We were just talking about going to swim a couple of days before he suddenly had a stroke :( I couldn't believe it when I heard the news, losing a friend is leaves a deep wound in your soul, although you try to remember the good moments you shared together and smile, it's impossible not to cry now and then. It is indeed hard to move on 😢
