In the book he's stroking her hair and she feels special and asks him why he's so good to her. He replies "because I feel sorry for you. Everyday you have to wake up and be you" and she hates that he said that and wishes he didnt... I really hated this ending at first, but as it sat with me I ended up loving it because it's very real. Victims usually do stay with their abusers. It's really sad, but it's true. What makes this so unique is that it's the woman who is the abuser, which I think is something that happens a lot more often than we acknowledge (although this is obviously an exaggerated dramatization). I love your reactions, Billy! Thanks for sharing with us 😊
@mandlerparr13 жыл бұрын
They are both abusive in this relationship, but she is way more abusive. I have seen this many times in relationships where both people have some sort of substance abuse. They will both be abusive towards each other, but one will be way worse. What that will look like is one of them will slap the other, and then the one who was slapped will just beat the ever living beep out of the slapper. is slapping abusive behavior? yes. Does getting slapped once entitle you to keep hitting someone who is no longer fighting with you and poses no threat? no. So, he is abusive first, she is manipulative. He upped it by checking out, cheating. She went nuts and we all know what she did. He is an abuser. She is an abuser. Sometimes a relationship does have both.

The husband being handsome and untrustworthy, smiling in pictures, having a mistress, and becoming the hyper fixation of Nancy Grace’s tv show are all from real life. This is such a good movie. Amy is so twisted and cunning, and she really is an evil genius. She has Nick right where she wants him, which makes for such a devastating and unknown ending. Nick isn’t a bad guy, but he’s not entirely good either and acts like a douche. He needs a strong figure to support himself, which is where Amy comes in, but transforms him into her vision. Their relationship is extreme and passive-aggressive, and when they do briefly talk about divorce, they want to destroy the other. In the end, they both decide to stay (with Any having leverage) and keep up the charade of a happy marriage. Perry said it right: They are fucked up people who deserve each other Edit- Fun Fact: Ben Affleck was cast in this role due in part of having similar qualities as Nick, particularly the unbelievability of playing a hero and the need for a strong mentor. To paraphrase Dylan from Dylan is in Trouble: Ben Affleck is the type of guy who would look and act guilty when accused of a crime he didn’t commit

Wow, I just watched this movie literally like two minutes ago and then came on youtube and this was the first thing I saw. I hadn't noticed you had released this video yesterday! What a happy coincidence. 🎉

#BINGERS Anastasia because it’s a beautiful and dark nostalgic gem. #BINGERS Spirit of the Cimmaron because it has such beautiful animation and doesn’t get the love it deserves. It’s one of Dreamworks’ best work with all the research they did for the art, story line, Native American history, rail road struggles when it was built so the story could be authentic while also entertaining. #BINGERS How To Train Your Dragon Trilogy because it is also Dreamworks best- better than Shrek. It’s so beautiful, magical, funny, and emotional.

In the novel, when the pregnant idiot is being interviewed, Amy's watching it on TV, and she says 'Good dog.' I was reading it on the bus and I laughed out loud. A lady on the bus looked at me like I killed a puppy

I agree with you @BillyBinges, I walked out of the theater after seeing this just about traumatized and thinking *Maybe I should just stay single.* Screw even having the chance of accidently ending up in some sort of nightmare like that.

one thing i liked about this movie was only able to manipulate naive upper class people with her shtick. She was so sure about how strong and cunning she was but once she stepped into the real world she was a weak, useless idiot.
