Fun facts about Simba’s Pride; - Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker were both originally considered to play as adult Kiara. - Speaking of Kiara, she was originally gonna be named Aisha. - There was originally gonna be a post credit scene. But got deleted. - The characters in TLK 2 also have names based on a Swahili word. Kiara means bright, Kovu means scar, Zira means hate, Vitani means demon, and Nuka means stink. - In an alternate version of Zira’s death, it was originally gonna be a suicide. - During the ambush scene, Zira and the Outsiders were originally gonna kill Simba but the creators decided not to go through with it because they didn’t want a repeat of Mufasa’s death.

HANDS DOWN....one of the BEST Disney sequels ever made. It's PERFECT. Does everything a sequel is MEANT to do. It expands on the original story, ties up loose ends from the original, feels like its not shitting on the original, has a similar flavor to the original while being its own thing, and its even based on Romeo and Juliet...just like the original was based on Hamlet. Yes, and the 3rd Lion King movie is based on Tom Stoppards 'Rozencrantz and Guildernstern are dead'. It's the story of Hamlet being told from the perspective of two minor characters, Rozencrantz and Guilderstern. They did the exact same thing with Pumbaa and Timon (although arguably they are MUCH bigger characters in the plot than the two shakespeare charachers).

Dont forget in the original books there was a son named Kopa. But since the person who made lion king 2 was unaware of the books technically he isnt cannon. But fans have found a way to intigrate him into the story. Since the cub at the end of one doesnt look like Kiara it is said that he is Kopa. And since there was no canonical reason why Zira was banished and Simba is so over protective. It is said that Zira killed or caused Kopas death as revenge for Scar.

He was originally going to tell Zira, "I'm sorry mother, I tried' before he passed. His character is judged a lot and treated as mere comedic relief, but he was just a kid who wanted to make his mother proud during a situation where they were all struggling to survive. Also Zira commits self-death originally as well. They cut a part in the original storyboard where she smiles at Kiara who offered her paw, and tells her "No, never." right before letting go. I love the music, especially the first song. Fun fact: it is included in the stage version of The Lion King on Broadway! (They still use The Circle of Life in the opening, but they use "He Lives in You" during the scenes where Mufasa talks to little Simba and they look up at the stars together).

There was a deleted script saying that was quoted by James Earl Jones (voice of Mufasa) telling his son, Mufasa: "You have let your family _break apart._ And in doing so, YOU have *broken* the Circle of Life." After Simba banished Kovu from the Pridelands. And to this very day, I do not understand why it HAD to be cut out! 😣😫 Why??? It's SO powerful and love it very much! Anyone have suggestions??

In the Lion King Musical, 'He Lives in You' is even more spectacular - they recreate mufasa's face in the sky with 25 piece of a single mask, and the song swells as simba realises who he is. With a full choir and orchestra, it is truly incredible. Worth the price of the ticket alone.

Biggest facts ever, Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) from the Scream movie voices the adult Kiara & Jason Marsden, who's a fellow animated voice actor more known for voicing Max (Goofy's son), is the voice of adult Kovu. Also, the plot of this sequel was based on Romeo & Juliet while the 1st was on Hamlet. It was indeed also James Earl Jones who voiced Mufasa once more. Jim Cummings voiced Scar in the nightmare sequence. For me, He Lives In You was a nice intro song, BUT, the villain song, My Lullaby, I don't know why, but it just never hit as hard as Be Prepared for me. I liked Scar's song better.

I loved this movie! My favorite of the Disney VHS sequels. I feel like the romance between Kovu and Kiara was more interesting than Simba and Nala. And their duet was beautiful 😍

You guys should also watch the lion guard its a series about simba’s son, kiara’s little brother his name is Kion. Kiara and kovu are probably 14-16 in human age. Nala is not simba’s cousin 😂 her father is unknown, her mother’s name is sarafina she’s sarabi’s best friend. Kovu is not scar’s biological son. Well originally they wanted to make kovu as scar’s biological son but it will cause confusion since he’s also kiara’s love interest.

Well the reason Zira looks funny when she falls is actually pretty dark: she fell on purpose because she refused to be saved. But Disney cut that out since they thought it'd be too dark for a kids' movie.

I do prefer He Lives in You over The Circle of Life. HOWEVER, I watched The Lion King 2 a LOT more than The Lion King growing up. So don't come for me🤣 It's just more nostalgic soundtrack for me. Circle of Life will always be goated & one of the most recognized opening themes ever, aside from maybe, Tarzan. Both are immaculate. Also, Zazu is a Red-billed Hornbill, not a Toucan.. & in the Upendi song, they're eating passion fruits, not whole a§ coconuts😆

In the books, Simba has three kids with Kiara being the middle sibling I believe. I believe her older brother becomes the Lion Guard, they made like a whole show about it

Kion is her younger brother. Kopa is the one who was at the end of the first movie but was killed by Zira, despite this movie never mentioned either brother. I don’t think Lion Guard or the books are canon to the original movie
