The part with Mama Coco singing is especially realistic, beautiful, and devastating because it's very common for people with Alzheimer's to recover lucidity for a while when music is playing, particularly music that they knew well when they were younger. When I saw Coco for the first time, I had a strange feeling that something wasn't right about Ernesto being Miguel's great-great Grandfather, and when they finally meet at the party, the *_feeling_* that something was wrong still wouldn't leave me. And then when that plot twist was revealed that Ernesto was a murderer and got rid of Miguel, I was like "I KNEW IT! I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HIM!"😤 Plus my mind was so focus on figuring out about Ernesto, that I didn't took the time to realize that Hector was Miguel's REAL great-great Grandfather all along, I should've known sooner, but again I was so focus on the story and characters in the present moment, that I blinded myself from seeing that the answer was right there all this time. Nonetheless I was happy with the heartfelt surprise of Hector being Coco's father and Miguel's REAL family, it made me love the movie even more❤

This is the gospel: Jesus came down to earth to save us from the power of sin and death by dying on the cross, so that by His atoning blood He can reconcile us to the Father, then according to the bible He rose from the dead the third day. Anyone who accepts Gods free gift of salvation and believes (has faith/trusts) in Jesus' finished work on the cross as the only thing that can save you from sin and death has eternal life. Accept Him as your personal Savior and Lord of your life, get baptized in His (Jesus') name, strive to live holy, and read His word. Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For you are saved by grace through faith (in Jesus), and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift- not from works, so no one can boast". Grace is not a licence to sin so don't think that because you are saved you have the right to continue living a sinful lifestyle. This isn't just a "religious" speech, this is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek -Romans 1:16. PLEASE don't reject the gospel because THE END IS NEAR, with all this current news about Israel, we can see that we are living in the last days/hour, don't hesitate but run to Jesus NOW.

This movie is something else when you rewatch it with the knowledge that Hector is the grandfather. ; A ; Suddenly you understand all of his grievances with everything Ernesto (like how quickly he shut down the idea of Miguel playing Remember Me at the show) and see the little ways in which you can tell he was once a father. What sticks out the most to me tho is their argument after the talent show. It seems at first that Hector is being unnecessarily mean about Miguel's ambitions, then you realize that he's basically trying to stop this kid from becoming what he himself has. 😭 A kid who left his family for music and died in the process, torn away from the ones he loves forever. "You'll thank me later," he tells him.

When mama Imelda looks at Hector during her performance, the line she sings in Spanish (I’m not even gonna *try* to spell it out lol) means “I’ll never stop loving you”, and the way she looks at him in that moment proves she was being serious about it. 🥰
@ZeldaWolf20003 жыл бұрын
Did you notice that at the end when they're walking across the bridge, Hector is wearing shoes? He's wearing shoes! The fan cannon is that Imelda made them for him. I love it so much! I've literally seen this movie over 25 times, and I've cried every time. 😀 also, hug through the computer. I wanted to hug you during the duet scene at the end. I love hugging people during that scene. 😀 Forgot to mention: I love the line, "that's for murdering the love of my life." It's such a deep line, that you can't really digest in the first watch, and it's great. First you find it funny, and then the second time around it's still funny, but then you realize that she still loves him, and always has, and by the third watch, it makes you cry, and then you're feeling all the emotions and it's great. Oh! Also! For some adorable behind the scenes detail that makes the flashback scene even sweeter; the voice actor for Hector, his ACTUAL little girl plays little Coco, so he's ACTUALLY singing to his daughter. That is the best behind the scenes information that I have ever been given ever! It makes it so much better! End it was already amazing! God I love this movie! 😀😀😀😀😀😀

@@jessicamorgan2438 I know right!? I'm normally not for love stories, but this is my favorite, because it has other elements and it's SO good! You can understand why Imelda is still mad at Hector, even though he was murdered, he still left in the first place, so she still has the right to be mad at him. However you can also understand why hector would want to leave and play music. It was his talent, and he could probably make a lot more money off of doing that than anything else. Also, adorable behind the scenes info about Imelda's voice actress: Alanna's mom sang La Liorona to her growing up, so when she heard her daughter singing so song in a movie she cried. It was apparently a very touching moment for the two of them. How sweet is that! 😀😢

@@ZeldaWolf2000 I understand why Imelda was mad. She didn't know. I probably would be to if I were in her shoes.. Thats the tricky part about love. Im not saying she didn't love raising Coco but hopefully you get what I mean..

I love writing that makes me have to read between the lines like that. It's great. 😀 Also, even though we don't see them as a couple for long, they are SOOOO CUUUUTE! 😀 They're one of my favorite couples in anything every. Another great tearjerker of a movie is a little British film called “When the Wind Blows” It may have endearing elderly protagonists and charming animation style, but it is most emphatically NOT for kids, not due to language/violence/situations, but because this movie is one of the darkest, bleakest, most depressing films you’ll ever watch, this film WILL crush your soul, push you past the point of tears, and into just plain, unrelenting *numbness* It’s available on that website named after the big South American River...

I don't think too many people pay attention to the fact that the _famous_ guitar has a gold tooth, foreshadowing that its proper owner was Coco's father, rather than the one best-known for playing it. And, in the afterlife, skeletons can't bone... They need their flesh for that.

To be honest, I like the Mexicans views on life and death more than America's. They believe that death isn't the end of one journey, it's the start of another one and that the spirits of those you love will always be with you; as long as you remember them, of course. Whereas in America, most people follow the Brian Griffin (or Seth MacFarlane) mentality and believe "dead people are just plain gone;" even some circles of Christians believe that

Same here, in Slavic we also do that but not on those days. We share specials food with our dead on a regular basis but then after they passed away every 1,3,5,7, and 9 years there is that huge traditional festival like situation in my mom's village where we dress in traditional outfits and prepare lots of stuff: we decorate corn stalks with candies, prepare cakes, food, drinks, candles, pictures of the person who passed away and we want to honor, and a big mirror. Then we dance on traditional folk music all night in a circle holding all those items for the dead. And we give colored scarves to the people who danced to mark the end of our grieving period. It's also a way to celebrate the dead's life and give them a huge party.

@@daniellac.7588 that's very interesting! From what country is that tradition? I mean I am Slavic too (Polish) and we don't celebrate it that way, for us is just two days 1of November (All Saint's Day) and 2 of November (All Dead's Day), we go to cementary and just put a candle on the grave of our dead ones. But! that is beautiful how Slavic culture is diverse! I would love to read about your celebrations more :)

#bingers “Over the moon”. This isn’t a Disney animation but it has Disney vibes, and it’s directed by Glen Keane who has worked on many Disney movies (Aladdin, tangled, the little mermaid, beauty and the beast, Tarzan, and Pocahontas). Also, the songs are SO GOOD!
@omoidashu3 жыл бұрын
Over the Moon is a pretty good film, but for Keane this was his first full length film to direct. He was not a director in those other films, the later ones he may have been an executive producer, but he is credited as supervising animator and character designer most times. He's the artist behind major characters like Beast, Ariel, Tarzan, Pocahontas, and Aladdin, (and MANY other character) but he is not the director. Most of the films you listed are actually a great team of Ron Clements and John Musker (their most recent works being The Princess and the Frog and Moana).
