True review. I've had same helmet since June 2021 and overall would buy again. My gripe too was the lack of ventilation particularly on those real hot days. I found removing the chin guard improved ventilation without sacrificing wind noise terribly. I have a 2019 Harley Heritage 114 with Vance and Hines slip ons and find the music level acceptable for listening. I typically stream Sirius XM off my phone and it works like a charm. My other gripe on the helmet is lack of eyeglass channels as alot of other helmets come with. I probably have 15,000 miles on the helmet and so far seems to be holding up fine.

I was looking at that helmet when I was shopping for a helmet. I ended up getting a different helmet, but I may look into getting another helmet in the future. I do not know if I would get a helmet for music. As for talking on the phone, I did have an intercom system installed on my helmet, but the sound of my bike would drown out my voice, and those I was speaking to could not hear me very well. It could be just the headset I installed, or maybe even the build of the helmet that I have been using, which is where I am getting the noise from. The headset I did install, could not be used very well, so I removed the headset, and now I only have the sound of the bike, and no communication device being used. Good review of your experience with the helmet.

@@MotorcyclingwithCarl I currently have a 2009 Honda Shadow Aero 750, but to me it sounds like the baffles have been removed. It does sound good, but I can not carry on a conversation using the headset I used, unless I was at a stop. As I said in my last comment, I do not know if it is because of the helmet, the headset, or just how loud the bike is of why I can not use the headset I was trying to use. Maybe the bike is to loud, maybe the helmet is to noisy, or the headset is crappy because of the price I paid. Either way, I will talk on my phone when I am not riding, and enjoy the ride when I am not on the phone. ;)

Can listening to music while riding be a distraction? Im debating on getting these to listen to music, but dont want it to distract me to much from traffic.

I listen at reasonable levels and can still hear mostly everything around me. I think this is why I have trouble on my Harley they don't allow the sound to blast to high so you can still hear stuff around you. But yes anything you do besides concentrating on the road is a distraction. They advertise this helmet to take phone calls I would not take calls I find that way to distracting. @@MotorcyclingwithCarl No, it doesn’t. I found the pdf manual online. I think the only voice commands are on the more expensive ones 50K’s/50R’s etc….the DWO-6 has big enough buttons to press even w/gloves on, so I’ll be fine….but voice commands would’ve been niiiiceeee! 🙂

How is the wind noise on this helmet? When you are going highway speeds (60+) can you still hear the music? My biggest problem with my helmet I have now is that as soon as I am going over 45mhp I can barely hear my own engine over the wind noise. Great review!

Thanks. When I am on my 92 Yamaha that is quiet the sound is great at any speed but when I am on my loud Harley it is hard to hear at any speed. So I would have to say the wind noise is not the issue but the sound of the bike. Thanks for watching.
