Activating Car Play on a G31 was very easy once I had a WiFi antenna installed. The only tricky part was to configure VM-Ware (I used a Mac instead of a PC for this) to let the Feature Installer program do its magic. As such, I had to set 2 network devices as bridged, one for the WiFi, the other one for Ethernet. Once done, everything went well and very quickly. No need to fiddle with Firewalls. I highly recommend this method of Car Play activation.

I just activated CarPlay in my 2018 430i Convertible. After agonizing for months over the prospect of disassembling my dashboard to install a wifi antenna and worrying about the potential consequences of third-party software I found Bimmerdoc's videos. Vladimir did an excellent job of describing and illustrating the process, and I decided to go with him. He inspired confidence, and I am not sorry that I chose to go with him. The mechanics of adding the wifi antenna were straightforward and took about fifteen minutes with no problems whatsoever. While there were fits and starts with installing the software, Vladimir answered my questions almost immediately and helped me through the few problems I encountered. I now have fully functional CarPlay in my F33 and I am delighted. Thank you, Vladimir.

CarPlay will be erased and new activation is needed. Method shown in that video is a bit outdated. See my newer videos about CarPlay activation. With new method CarPlay can be restored after bmw update via the same code and you don’t need to purchase it again ☺️

I bought your full screen apple CarPlay activation and it works great. The only issue is when I initially activated it, the Apple CarPlay app bar was on the right hand side but recently I had to take my car into BMW and so I used your feature installer to restore back to OEM so it didn’t affect my warranty. When I used the software again to recode my Apple CarPlay the app bar is now on the left hand side and not the right hand side which is annoying as I’m from the UK and have a right hand side car. How can I revert it back to the right hand side as before?

It means you don’t have nbt evo but Entrynav2 If it still has wifi antenna output (check for it physically) then you ou can have a CarPlay

Just an FYI coding Apple CarPlay will void your warranty on the head unit, and can fuck the programming up if it’s needed for any repair that requires it and thus causing the head unit to crash and when investigated it will show up as apple car play active when the FSC codes on the vehicle order what show it’s not spec’d with apple carplay! Be careful!

Reverting back works with enet (but to be honest even with enet you cannot revert back 100%). For full revert you need to reflash headunit and install OEM fsc (repair pack).

In current version both activation methods can be used. I do recommend the ENET version, because in that case the same code will work after software update as well. But USB activation will not work after SW update any more.

Actually you might need to update HU in order to CarPlay work at all! I’ve tested in G istep level… installation goes as it should, but no CarPlay at the end.

Насколько я понял, Активация карплея из себя представляет замена FSC кодов. И так как машина с завода уже имеет, мы меняем коды на фейковые. И после данной процедуры обновления НБТ или диагностика у диллера может быть отклонена, также возможно получить кирпич из НБТ. Так все таки после замены FSC кодов, будет ли возможно диагностировать машину на ошибки и тд если оригинальные коды заменены на фейковые?

Почти верно. Коды да меняются на фейковые. И вот собственно и все. Диагностика отлично делается. Если обновить ПО то коды слетят (но можно заново все активировать кодом от моего бота. Он делает пожизненные а не одноразовые коды). Дилеры часто пугают тем что голова ляжет из-за фейк кодов. Это так не работает. Они на самом деле могут восстановить все обратно через repair pack. Но не хотят с этим возиться или еще что. Вот и пугают всех. По этому всегда доверяйте Гуглу, а не одному конкретному человеку.

There is no free solution for CarPlay activation in the market. Because software that is able to activate it costs 3000-5000 € That’s why it’s just impossible to make it for free. It’s not simple coding as start-stop deactivation for example.

Yes you can install not OEM WiFi antenna, but OEM antenna is preferred!

CarPlay is not supported on nbt evo ID4 Reflashing to ID5/6 is needed first.
