You really should use a vacuum carb balancing meter to properly balance the two. The 4 bank Mercury tool I’ve found is the most accurate.

Hi, thank you for the detaild explanation. On my 503 there is one more screw for the Fuel/Air Mixture. Can you by any chance tell me what the factory setting on these is? So lets say i turn them in completly, how many turns to screw back out? Thank you :)
How high should the slide be when at full throttle? Mine seem like there to high but were in sync

It should be completely clear - when seen from the air filter side.

No vacuum measurement?

Nice video, thank you. Wondering about setting with vacuum gauges? A friend did this and found that the carb slides were physically set differently afterwards. He claims smooth operation. Which method is preferred and more accurate?

I have used both and prefer this method, no equipment to purchase or set up. The Ultralight Flyer

My 582 runs rough below 2900rpm. It's a fresh rebuild. I think it could be the prop but I thought it would get worse with higher rpm.

Check to make sure your needle is BELOW the white plastic cup, in your carbs.

@@ultralightnews That's not it. I just checked and it is assembled correctly. I wonder if I would be the props resonant frequency with that gearbox and engine

The process for Hirth 3203 with the delorto carbs are just about the same

I had a single carb duel ignition and I upgraded to a duel carb. I have had issues like crazy getting it started. After I can finally get it started the RPMs are way too low. Like 800. If I give it gas it dies. Eventually it revs up and sounds normal. I can give it gas and it acts normal. After warming up fully it will idle like normal around 1800-2000. Any idea why this is happening? I have re jetted for my altitude and even replaced my needle jet. Nothing seems to help.
Light Sport and Ultralight Flyer thanks for the info. With this engine only having 20 hours on it I wouldn’t think this would be the issue in this situation. Any other suggestions on the carb side of things?
