This week, we're headed back to Quahog (named after a type of clam!) for a decidedly domestic dinner prepared by Family Guy's familial punching bag, Meg Griffin. In a rare turn of events, everyone's left speechless as Meg effortlessly prepares a delicious, nutritious dinner for her incredulous parents. Let's see how it tastes as we make up the entire recipe!

Something that is completely glossed over in that episode is that Louis does in fact complain about what she does too much. Meg effortlessly does what she does and more. The only reason they go back to how things were is, because of Chris not being able to handle it, not Meg.

@@dragastarr2926 Chris and Meg trashed Peter's motorbike. Him and Lois being typical American parents, were obviously fuming at this. Meg and Chris stated that they had no idea what it was like being grown-ups, and that started a dare/contest to see who could last longer in the other's shoes. Since the episode's been out for years (and we're beyond a spoiler warning at this point), Lois and Peter finally caved and said that Meg and Chris had it rougher than they did. Though they won the bet, Chris had to keep Peter's role, due to Angela (Peter's boss at the brewery) saying Chris had at least twice the productivity as Peter ever did. (Managing stuff in a brewery is very difficult, near impossible without training. Kinda makes you wonder how Chris could excel at his dad's job but still barely pass in high school.)

@@KurosakiYukigo It came out okay. I butchered a bit of the ingredients and took a different approach to preparing certain parts of the side dishes. For example instead of deep-frying the tortillas I used the air fryer instead and I couldn't really find something to freeze the chocolate to the right shape in time so I ended up injecting the chocolate into the cake as best I could being careful not to ruin it. The greens came out a little crunchier than I wanted but my step-dad didn't mind it at all and appreciated my efforts more than anything. Everything else wasn't 1:1 with the video either but I was satisfied with the results and my step-dad finished his entire plate along with a nice slice of cake.

It makes sense if you think about it, Lois grew up rich and pampered, never having to do any form of housework until she got married and settled into a more simple life with Peter. Simple housework probably seems like an exausting and laborious task to her considering that background. Meanwhile Meg was born into the middle class lifestyle of the Griffins, and has to suffer being bullied both at home and at school relentlessly. A little vacuuming and dusting is probably therapeutic quiet time for her. Or just generally having time at home by herself with no school bullies, no family, etc for 8-ish hours every day. Housewife life is probably a breeze for Meg.

I mean, from what I've seen of Family Guy, that seems to be a running theme for most of the cast, especially in the later seasons. Mean-spiritedness(?) seems to take precedence over most other character traits and has even ruined some characters (see the wealth of videos on Brian's character).

I love how Stewie was very supportive of Meg in spite of Peter and Lois (And presumably Chris), and Meg knocked it out of the park with a delicious and balanced meal offering full flavor and major nutrition for everyone. I feel like Meg and Stewie would be the only members of the Griffin family to make something of themselves as adults, and maybe be the favorites of Grandpa Pewterschmidt (Lois' father) to boot.
@QueenGtros
@QueenGtros 2 жыл бұрын
If I remember the episode right, Chris and Meg were actually teamed up for this one so she did have Chris' support in this instance. As for the future, the glimpses of the future we get are probably the closest thing to real we ever see for the Griffins. Meg and Stewie should be destined for success because they both demonstrate sincere talent and intelligence, yet almost every time we see the future they're both following in their father's footsteps and barely scraping by. If you're into overanalyzing TV, then it's a great commentary on how familial abuse and neglect can potentially destroy a child's bright future.
