Hi Devaraj, thank you for the videos. Living in Ireland, first time i have come across anything like this. Find them very beneficial. Gets me out of my head and i start to become more aware of my body. Makes me more relaxed and grounded.

I just came across this term and reached your video. Seems helpful and I am willing to give it a try. My main query is if this helps with “fibromyalgia”. Trying to figure out how to get rid of the trauma stored in the body. Thanks.

Hi! While doing this or other bioenergetic exercises that you present on your youtube channel, is it important to breathe, to inhale and exhale, through nose or through mought? How many different exercises you recommand that should be practiced one after another and how long one entire everyday training should last (for example one hour daily or less or more than that)?
@DevarajSandberg
@DevarajSandberg 7 жыл бұрын
Apsolvent Kubni hi there. Nearly all exercises I recommend deep breathing in and out through the mouth. This engages the body more. You could follow some of the workouts maybe and see how they go. 30 mins a day is a great start while you get used to this work. Dev

Let me ask you something more... I heard for the first time about bioenergetics by dr Alexander Lowen on a local tv show, so I tried to find some of his books in english on the internet and I did... majority od these books are theoretical, but I also found one which is about explaining how to perform exercises and there are lot of drawings, illustrations. Unfortunatelly, this particular book is a spanish translation of Lowen's book, I couldn't find in in english original version. I know a little bit spanish language too so I tried to translate and with a help od dictionary I think i understood most things in book (I haven't finished reading/translating, I'm on the 1/3 of the book at this moment), but because aproximately onlu every fourth or fifth exercise is followed by a picture, to be sure that I understood exercise corectly I tried yesterday to find is there something about these exercises on youtube, so I came across your chanell and it helped me with several exercises. After long introduction... :) Is your work about bioenergetics based on dr Lowen's work? And another question: in this Lowen's books there are a lot of exercises, maybe one hundred in total, I'm not sure... If i practice only 10 exercises for a few minutes, that will be a full hour only for them. What I want to say, that, shoul I try different exercises and then choose some of them, focus on those which produce more energetic response of my body (more shaking, trembling) and not to do exercises which cause a small effect (no vibration or in small intensity)? Is this a best way to choose exercises, cause I don't have time for all of them, of course? Also i Would prefer breathing through nose, cause that's the way I used to in all kind of body exercises and sports I usualy do, but maybe I would try also through nose, cause you say it engages more body...
@DevarajSandberg
@DevarajSandberg 7 жыл бұрын
Apsolvent Kubni wow that's a long question but the book you're looking for is also in English. It's called The Way To Vibrant Health, I do bio from Lowen, who also got a lot of the positions from other practitioners, and from teachers out of Brazil. Plus I put my own stuff in there. Dev

The book I have is ''Ejercicios de bioenergetica'', by Alexander Lowen and Leslie Lowen. This book (and also four, five more books in english by A. Lowen) I have downloaded for free from Internet. I've tried to read one of this theoretical works, which is more psychological book, but it was too boring for me... :) This spanish one is very practical with elementary theoretical background and I like it very much.

Can I ask why breathing through the nose is discouraged? I have some time ago read James Nestor's book "Breath" where he basically advocates for virtually always breathing through the nose even during heavy exercise if I remember right. Also yesterday I did this exercise the first time and it caused moderate neck pain for me. Was it maybe that I kept my neck too tense (or locked up) during the arch or is this supposed to happen?
@DevarajSandberg
@DevarajSandberg Жыл бұрын
That's quite an old video now. But what I'd say 2023 is to not obsess over how you breathe specifically when doing Bio. If you know proper abdominal breathing then that's great. Otherwise just try to be aware of your breathing and the sense of your body. That will help with tension too. It's a deep journey.

Allow me to "advice" that the exercise that you share are not proper showed. Not meant to criticize you Devaraj, probably you do mean good. .The exercise, when are proper done, are the key of "a pandora box" . Then before you show them you have to give a warning. Of what they will release .... YES, I worked with A.L. many years !!! Your grounding exercise , its fine , the "Bow" wrong ...and the jump at the end , no need it. Just take notes!

Hey Dev, im getting really panicky about not getting the postures right, in the Bow position, i tend to arch my back really dramatically(like in a “collapsed” position,kinda getting worried about the exercise ruining my posture)is this good? Or should the position be done with a straighter back?And do the arms have to be completely vertical and narrow or wider?The knees are bent right? Cheers Adriano Ps. Youre the best👶🏻, also, is it possible for you to check my posture through a Skype session?
@DevarajSandberg
@DevarajSandberg 4 жыл бұрын
It can also be that the practice is bringing up anxiety and this is being projected onto the situation. But we can do a skype session for sure, and I can check. It would be £40 for 45 mins.

I can barely manage the bow for 30 seconds, should I try add 10 seconds every day or something to those lines, or try and spread a few different 30 second bursts throughout the day.

sorry for the delay in replying, Jordie. yes I'd say that's fine. if your body is physically ok and you get some aching or burning in the muscles this is usually fine and indicating that change is happening. anything stronger and you need to stop. Dev

don't overdo it, I would say. no need to push yourself. but continue if you feel to and it may shift. pretty much every on the planet has huge levels of holding in their lower back. it's the great garbage dump of the body. Dev

Abner 1 hi man, if you feel to you could try vomiting one time and see how you feel later. or just burping. burping is good in bio! it's common when you start to only be able to hold the bow or arch for 30 secs. it's ok, you just stick with it, making sure you really breathe and feel the body whilst practicing

Does it feel like neck tension, InnerPower? Because it's common for people to have a very tense neck when doing the Bow (leaning back) exercise. Breathing deeply out from the neck while holding the position should help. Dev x
