These are great - wish you'd upload at least the PDFs of the advanced immunology lecture series.

There is one inaccuracy in this lecture, i think As far as i know, it is considered that the main type of activation of classical complement system is binding of C1q with immune complex ( a complex, that is formed by Ab and Ag). C1q binds with a Fc part of Ab. So classical pathway starts as soon as Ab are produced.

C1q also binds with CRP. I guess because he didn't speak about antibodies yet in his lectures, he used the CRP exemple.

Thank you for this lecture. My professor has a strong accent, so it is very difficult for me to decipher her pronunciations.

At 39:23 shouldn't the C5 have a listed function for soluble C5b fragment not C4b?

wtf is a positively charged nucleophile? 18:54

I think what it is trying to get across is that a nucleophile, indicated by the tail of end of the arrow, attacks the thioester bond, indicated by the pointed end. I don't think it is saying the Carbon atom is the nucleophile considering it would have a partial positive charge since its electron density is being pulled towards both the O and S atoms, thus making The C an electrophile. It's simply showing where an nucleophile would attack.
