Biologist Helps Big Cats and People Coexist | Lion Protector

The fewer than 2,000 lions left in Kenya face many threats, including retaliatory killings by herders who lose livestock to the big cats. National Geographic 2014 Emerging Explorer and conservation biologist Shivani Bhalla started a nonprofit, Ewaso Lions, to help herders learn to live with lions-giving the big cats their best chance of survival.

Unless the prey species make a comeback, lions will be forced to go for livestock to feed their pride. I would like to know what efforts are being done to rehabilitate the habitat.

Hunger can only be fought with food. That's a tough fight. Kenya brought in a bunch of prey. Translocation.

Electric fences or maybe barred fences with fire torches around it. I remember there is a boy who built electric fences (low voltage) around his family's farm to prevent tigers from raiding their livestock at night.
