I would say mostly love, the love that won't separate men from nature and his individuality with everyone. Most sages all through history alerted us with the illusion of thoughts, most notably Jiddu Krishnamurti, my personal opinion the greatest sage that manifested in the brutal 20 century to warn us with his love. Erich also said @37.26: "under the illusion, people THINK what they think is precisely what they choose to think". That is to say, they think they have "clear" thinking! Thinking is a passivity according to all of them, an inertia, an arrogance, a laziness, only Love is in action.

Check out Escape From Freedom and The Sane Society (in that order)-- lays out the social psychological and anthropological principles at length. Those two books freed my mind and changed my life forever. :)

I don't understand. Why is Fromm using the story of Adam & Eve to explain the human nature? Wouldn't be better to study it from an evolutionary point of view where biology would be the main field to look at it? Why are psychologists even start to include something which in the first place never happened?

The story of Adam and Eve does not have higher value than the story of Gilgamesh, or Prometheus. It`s your nervous system`s semantic reaction to the particular story that is different thus feeling it as Fromm gave it more significant value. I recommend reading about time-binding in "General Semantics" of Alfred Korzybski. On this channel, you got some videos of Sanford Berman and Robert Pula, I think also of Korzybski himself.
