In this video I make a birch plywood shelving unit to sit behind the mirror doors of our bathroom cabinet. I cut housing grooves (dados) and rebates (rabbets) for the joinery using the table saw.

Grooving blade: geni.us/bvtVSCx (Amazon UK) please note, this fits my table saw which has a 30mm arbour bore - adapter rings and other blade sizes are available too

Just deepen the countersinks on the wall brackets, I’ve used them on numerous occasions to hang mirrors. Use an HSS bit though Keith.

Nope nope....You're not an idiot. It's your inner restoration ability sabotaging you. I've said it before, you have a talent for restoration, and it just wants out is all.

Thanks for the recommended grooving blade, I have been looking for a short arbour alternative to dados for a while. Like the shelves! Cheers.

I normally use just a plunge router for these kind of rebates. Which goes extremely fast especially with a proper guidance sled.

I have the 6 mm version of that CMT grooving blade. It works really well, and there is enough carbide on those teeth to be sharpened a hundred times. But it is quite prone to blow out, though. So, I use some kind of backing to prevent that. Anyway, a great start to the weekend. Cheers, and thanks for sharing.

Nicely done Keith 😁. The bathroom is looking great 👍. I'm loving my Grooving blade too. I've only had it a while and I seem to be using it for everything 😁. Thanks for the video Keith 😁👍

Coming together really nice. Down the line a few soffit vents would work for the ventilation....easy to fit while the box is in place 👍
