Your project is as cute as it can be. Every detail you created added to the charm and appeal. It was fun watching someone doing hand sewing! I learned a tip when I was doing a lot of counted cross stitch, that eliminates knots. It will take you longer to read my instructions, than to do what I am recommending! Write the letter A on a piece of paper. Put it on a table in front of you, on your right side. Separate two inches of a length of Velcro. Cut a one inch piece of just the SOFT side. You can put the remaining Velcro away. Dampen the small piece that you cut. It should be wet, but not dripping. Think of the loose end of your skein of embroidery floss as ‘end A,’ and the end that you cut as ‘end B.’ Cut a length of embroidery floss, all six strands, no more than 18” long. Don’t separate the strands yet. I see that you are right handed. Using your right thumb and index finger, hold ‘end A.’ With your left hand, pick up the small, dampened Velcro and fold it in half, with the loopy side on the inside of the fold. Separate your left thumb and index finger so that the folded velcro is looks like a capital letter V, laying horizontally. Nearest your right thumb and index finger insert the ‘A end’ of the floss, into the folded Velcro. Pinch your left thumb and index finger together, not tightly, just enough so that the floss is being hugged by the Velcro, like a sandwich. Now with your right thumb and index finger, draw the entire length of the floss, all six strands, through the dampened Velcro. Repeat two to three times. Always reinsert the ‘A end’ to pull through the Velcro. The fibers on all thread goes in one direction. Just like fur on a dog or cat. That’s why it is important to draw the strands of floss through the Velcro the same direction each time. After pulling them through the velcro, two or three times, set the Velcro aside and transfer the ‘A end’ of the floss to your left thumb and index finger. Position the end of the floss so that it extends above your fingers about 1/4”. With your right index finger, gently tap the ‘A end,’ to slightly separate the strands. One at a time, slowly pull one strand away from the group of six. Set it aside so that the A end of the floss is on the paper with the letter A. The other part can just be on the table in a long line. Continue pulling three more individual strands out, ONE at a time. Set them aside keeping all of ‘A ends together. To separate the remaining two strands, use your right index finger and put it in between the two strands, at the ‘A end, which your left thumb and index finger are still holding. Slowly lower your right index finger, gently separating the strands. When they are separated lay both down with the others, matching the A ends. Now select however many strands you need for the current use. If you keep your embroidery floss on small plastic or cardboard squares, in a floss organizer, when you are ready to wind your left over floss back onto the cardboard, begin with ‘end B.’ I keep my little piece of Velcro in my floss organizer box. Dampening your floss and keeping fibers going in one direction, will reduce knots. The 18 inch rule applies to all hand sewing. It reduces tangling. Thank you, for sharing all of your projects! I’m definitely going to do it, but I think I will only tack down the roof on one side, so that a child could lift half to hide treasures in the house.

So cute!! I love the vine sooo much!! And the little bird too! I will admit to being a big fan of dark colors and spooky-ish things so... I am keeping my fingers crossed for a Haunted House, hopefully in early Autumn/in time for Halloween! I'm already looking at my black toned fabric scraps and researching Wisteria embroidery techniques. I think the vine and purple flowers would bring just the right touch of beauty to a darker project. Thank you so much for sharing your creartivity, the inspiration, and your soothing presentation style.

Hello, Thank you for the kind comments. The little pinkish house was from a pattern I searched online. The birdhouse is one I just drew myself. Perhaps you could search birdhouse patterns and then reduce the size. Hope that helps 😊
