Same thing happened to me last year, a week before my birthday while I was away for work my cat of 13 years passed away just as fast as Moochie did and this year in March our Dog passed away 10 days after his 12th birthday from kidney failure and Lymes disease. It's the food these companies are processing for these animals, putting a bunch harmful ingredients in them just like they're doing in human food.

RIP to poor Moochie. It's never easy to have this presence in your life for so long, and then for it to so suddenly be gone. I lost two of my dogs within a week of each other back in June, and just the other night, I dreamt of hugging them again. It's amazing, really, the little things you end up taking for granted until it leaves a massive hole in your heart. Take care of yourselves, Bruno, Mia, and Jerry. And take good care of Mittens. I'll admit to not being an expert in how cats mourn, but I'm sure she's noticed something change in her own way.

Currently balling; I'm so sorry for your loss. You and Mia have all my love and condolences. I lost Shadow a few months before this in August. Like Moochie, she had the kindest personality, with a hint of sas, and was so smart :) She had suffered from sudden severe liver failure in 2021. The rest of my family were all away on trips for a week just after it happened, so I was alone to care for her; The trauma of racking myself researching/trying every possible thing to get her to eat and worrying she might die while I'm alone still lingers with me. Eventually, I was successful and with long-term tri-weekly IV fluid + a few meds, she miraculously managed to bounce back for 2 years longer, extra time I'll always cherish. The longterm care never dampened Shadow's spirit, and despite me and my Dad being her favorite for years, actually brought her closer to my Mom :) Unfortunately, a growth caught up to her and the pressure on her esophagus made her slow/stop eating and drinking again. She stood on my lap instead of in the carrier on the way to the final vet trip, so she wouldn't be afraid, just joyful of the world moving by her in her last moments. I was there with her to the very end and was the last thing she saw when exiting. I made sure to trully absorb as much possible sense memory of her pur, her fur, her love, etc as I could during her last couple weeks, so a bit more time can be spent among best friends in my vivid dreams when she decides to pop in. She joined my life when I was 10 and she was 2 and lived a long joyfilled life to 18. The shining example of what love can foster in another being. The Light that Makes our Shadow :)

good journey, Moochie. you brought us all really great joy over the years. bruno and Mia. i am so very sorry for your loss. i wish i was there with you to give you big hugs. having trouble trying to write cause i can't stop crying and the tears are stinging my eyes. i could start yelling how it's not fair. but, life isn't meant to be fair, is it ? bruno, i was same way after Bright eyes passed away. i lost over 48 hours of sleep, i couldn't eat, couldn't stop crying, kept blaming myself that if i had the money sooner to save her, maybe she would still be here. but, blaming myself did nothing cause even my family told me, it was just her time to go home. it's going to be hard to accept and you may not ever get over it. but, just bare in mind, my old friends. you did all you could for her and you made her final days memorable. take your time grieve. don't worry about other things at the moment. take care and god bless to you both. sending you all love and hugs.

Watching you helping Moochie fight reminded my alot of when I lost my bunny Comet 2 years ago.. He was stricken with a brain parasite and even with medication his chances were 50/50. Sadly he passed on 12/7/21... Moochie had her best life because of you, Mia, and Jerry, and Mittens too. Losing them hurts, but that's the price of loving them.. R.I.P. Moochie...
