Good tool to pull frames but its a slow process. Use chain binders. They are chain pullers to tide down construction or machinery to be towed using 3/8-1/2 inch chains. They are manual ratcheted style but to make work it work sometimes you need 2-3 binders to pull together from different point. I believe they are your better shot at pulling the frame. And the best tide down is trees to pull. We pulled a vw golf racecar frame using bidders, hammers and map torch to heat some spots lightly. We did it in 2 hours and no pulling while driving. Just experienced tow truck and construction equipment haulers.

That's ace, got to love back yard/bush mechanics. I used a similar way to pull my bull bar back out after wiping out a kangaroo at 110 kmph, recovery strap around a nearby tree and onto the bar work and then reverse until it was square again. Worked a treat.
@ALittleBitOfGay4 жыл бұрын
Mike Robertson yikes, I imagine that was frightening! Glad your car made it out unscathed, other than the bull bar. Did you have a burial for the kangaroo? 😬😉
@mike76rob4 жыл бұрын
@@ALittleBitOfGay Surprisingly not that frightening at all, the big bugger jumped into the road at night (in the Bush out there it is pitch black) so I switched the lights off and on in the hope of unstartling it, I couldn't swerve either as it was trees one side and a big coach coming from the other direction so poor skippy came off worse. All that in about 20 seconds. No burial though, pulled to the side of the road, I'm sure the dingo's and the many, many flies made a feast out of it.

Oscar can totally just build a pulling machine in just a few hours, my dad already built two in kind of a T, L shape in the garage without much welding experience and in a couple of days for him without many tools and a cheap welding machine from Harbor. My point is he already fixed like a dozen cars successfully and has even received offers for the second one. With you guys' skills and resources, you could go offboard with this approach but then it would take too much time. Something simple and quick I think by all means would do the trick, and the pulling motion would be sustained and way more controlled as you know (: Cheers! Enjoy your vids.

You might look into building yourself a frame dozer they are pretty simple and cheap to build and work pretty well my father fixes transport vans for a company and recently built himself one and uses it quite a bit to pull inner structures from collisions when needed and saves $$ to not have to send stuff off to a frame rack!!!
