Bishop, I’m a family man of 30 plus years and a daily communicant of 40. I spent 10 years Franciscan University during the Fr. Mike Scanlan years, giving reason to my faith. I’m not alone in saying you are the intellectual rock and light at this time for the faith, and for my faith. Thank you, deeply.

Advent season is my favorite time of the year because it gives me the opportunity to Christianize the Christmas season. It's about the birth of Jesus Christ. To atheists, non believers, non practicing Christians. I say make sincere repentance for all their sins and accept Jesus as the savior. And I pray for them too with my rosary.

As the final weeks of ordinary time come, I get the good sensational feeling of Advent season. By next Sunday, it'll be the Solemnity of Christ the King. My favorite Advent hymn is O come O come Emannuel.

If, as Fr. Barron you don't like to wait, fast forward and listen from 1:50 to 3:15 to learn how God uses prayer and the season of Advent to expand our hearts so they can receive what God wants to give us.

Bishop : maybe not a good Idea to be praying the beads while in traffic ? I would say just do the prayer mentally ? But what do I know ? God bless you

By law we are not allowed to text or even hold our phone. while driving Punishable by a fine.I wonder if the police officer would give us a break if we were holding the Rosary beads. I do recite the Rosary while driving. I have the Scriptural Rosary recorded on my phone. I have a confession to make. I rigged up a little pouch to hold my phone so it doesn't fly all over the place.Yes , I made it with duck tape. Praise God and keep your eyes on the road.

Bishop, my Parish printed something on our bulletin which included your message telling people to "fast from Christmas music from November 1st to December 26th". Bishop, first of all, be careful who you say that to. In the Philippines, the Christmas spirit is so strong, that it starts with Christmas music playing as early as SEPTEMBER 1st and ends early January. Do not mess with the way we Filipinos celebrate Christmas, it’s not a sin to get Christmassy before Christmas day. In the Filipino culture, we celebrate nine evening or dawn masses from December 16th to the 24th in anticipation of Christmas. These masses are known as “Simbang Gabi”. Because Simbang Gabi is celebrated in anticipation of Christmas, it’s not treated like an ordinary Advent mass. These masses are festive. The Gloria and Christmas carols are sung, white vestments are worn by the clergy instead of violet and the sanctuary is festively decorated. Simbang Gabi is an ancient Filipino tradition that is approved by the Vatican and has spread all over the world. Someone might tell you that Simbang Gabi should be treated like an advent mass, but those people don’t understand what Simbang Gabi is all about. If you are confused, I would suggest reading this: www.scribd.com/document/366116828/Guidelines-on-the-Celebration-of-Simbang-Gabi-in-the-Archdiocese-of-Manila-2013

I keep hearing is in Gods time. Well God is eternal not me! I admit is hard for me to accept that I have to keep waiting, so I guess I need to grow in patience and humility. So is it because my heart is not ready to receive the gift? Well at the pace things are going I might be 120 years old by the time I receive Gods gift , if He decides to have mercy on me and give it to me. Yes in the Bible many of Gods holy people waited for God. Well I’m not holy by any stretch of the imagination! I was hoping to have hope after seeing the video, but not sure now. Advent is to prepare ourselves for God. It seem to me that my human nature prevents me to have a heart ready ( and I have prayed for) to receive His merciful gift. I been told to put it in Gods hand. Okay I have done that before, so does that mean I should stop praying for it, and change plans? The problem I see with changing plans is that life becomes meaningless to me. I feel undead now. Any suggestions?

Jesus Christ was not born on 25 December and the Bible does not mention it all. This is just another Catholic invention or just copying other pagan cults. It follows the Saturnalia, Sol Invictus and Mithra, who were all born on 25 December. All these were pagan cults gods or saviors that existed before Jesus. So, why the Christmas celebrations of pagan?

People chose Christ. And despite popular opinion, people STILL continue to choose Christ. Let me ask you this, What does Christ have that all those other pagan gods and holidays don't have? When you truly find this answer, you will also have the answer to you question! Who is Christ? What's all the fuss? 😊
