Turn all units to 1 artillery and then when the war starts, turn your units to cavalry and you have no problem running over Stalin’s units

I was able to do this achievement as Stalin on my first attempt, but like you said it involved a lot of conquest. I could have gotten it by 1946 after destroying the entire Axis almost singlehandedly, but the Allies dragged me back into the conflict after declaring on one of my puppets. It was a long, brutal campaign, but by February of 1952 I had 774 divisions deployed, tens of thousands of planes in the air, and a serviceable fleet to help with invasions. In the process of earning this achievement I also managed to get Race for Germany, Puppetmaster, We Really Don't Like Statistics, and Not a Step Back, so overall I'd call that a success!

I recommend you put all the starting divisions in Ukraine so at the start of the civil war all your divisions will be ready to go but all the Stalinist divisions will be randomly teleported giving you a chance to grab some free land

You can send all of your equipment as lend-lease to the spanish and then break the lend lease when the civil war starts to get all of your equipment back. You can also switch the whole military to like, 1 art battalion or something(send the NKVD divisions to vladivostok or something since they cannot be changed) and once the civil war starts switch yours to a normal template. If you do both you can sweep and cheese the civil war to hell and back.

Tanks are good again in 1.11.5 IMO, they seriously cut down the costs. I've had success with 5/4/1 medium/motor/motor artillery and 3/4/2 with lights or minmaxed mediums. The smaller width helps out with supply.

Enjoy the vids, I had trouble with this one because I would follow your Trotsky path and by the time I would get to Finland the Allies seem to always guarantee the Fins and makes me regret not just going with Papa Stalin. Keep up the hard work though, I love the guides and they have helped me learn more of the strategies and inner workings of HOI4.

How do you like the right opposition tree? I mean like in "how fun" not how strong. The right side seems the most fun because of the focus that gives you a war goal on every neighbor and its fun to rush for it and take them all on before the germans attack and before they expire.

You should've done military support focus instead of NKVD (or even both). I got civil war support to over 70% after clicking decision 2 times and approaching Tukhachevsky. Also getting more generals on your side is good because once civil war starts you will only get those that have Trotskyist trait. Just gotta get lucky with frequent purge events so it lowers paranoia.

I had such a huge campagin on Europe that I lost 50 million men, had 900 divs deployed, had a massive fleet, had over 100,000 planes deployed and then fought an existential crisis in asia

PSA about the Great Purge events: the way they're coded, finishing the focus spikes the paranoia score and hitting the Great Purge event button drops it back down. I learned the hard way that it's possible for the post-focus paranoia spike to push you over 90% and into a civil war (because of the chance of Stalin declaring war on you) before you hit the button. If your paranoia's over 60% close to a Great Purge, it might be worth forging the production reports.

I got the achievement under Stalin: Invaded Turkey/Romania and Afghanistan early. Then went for Iran during WW2. Then went after China/Korea, followed by Mongolia.

Does putting troops on the border actually influence the AI's decisions in regards to these Ultimatums? Because if yes then I just figured out why the Czechs always refused me in my 1.2k hours of playtime

The AI has a 'threat modifier' it uses when making all of its decisions in game, including most events. The relative strength of your border (same calculations as breaking NAPs) is a big part of that calculation, alongside army size, division strength, etc.

I tried doing this as Stalin, and I essentially conquered the entire world. My only neighbor was Siam, but because of a bug I couldn’t justify on them, and the hours I had spent in conquest went to waste. True tragedy. WHY IS THAT DAMN FOCUS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR TROTSKY???

Zhukov's actually not a Stalinist as far as the game's concerned from the get-go. I was doing a Trotsky run and managed to have him defect to me. Maybe if he gets picked by one of the events where Stalin ensures the loyalty of an army general then he will be, but otherwise he's fair game

if you want to do this achievment in a cheap and simple way, you could just attack Finland early, take only their island they have ( I think its called Aland) and then declare on the germans and let them overrun your entire nation, just have some troops on that island. when germany wins they should take all of your core territories and you should just have Aland left which gives you the achievement.

Dispersed industry is better than concentrated because of the extra building slots you get from the high infrastructore zones.

Both grant the same building slot bonus, although the factory output bonuses of concentrated industry are quite nice, especially if your industrial heartland is far away from the front line, as becomes the case with the USSR after the destruction of the Allies and Berlin-Rome Axis.

Hey bitt3rsteel, I could be wrong on this but maybe it's better to sometimes let the paranoia get high? If i understand it right, the higher the paranoia, the more purges and therefor the more support in the revolution, could explain why you had more support last time? goed werk makker :)

It should work. I got it as Germany by building through both my land, occupied land, and my war allies. Check that there isn't some tiny unconnected piece in your line to Singapore, I guess?

Question! When Finland rejects the demands, the UK or France will guarantee them. WT is at around 40% but i see you still manage with 48%. Am I doing something wrong? Why do they keep guaranteeing Finland?

you must be waiting after getting a wargoal, you should attack right away. allies like to guarantee countries before WW2 kicks off when you manually justify or when you already have an active wargoal but don't attack right away.
