Legally speaking , even a side bag on bike is illegal as per law in India. Any sticker, god's sticker or even a national flag on bike or car is illegal according to Indian laws. I think RTO should first challan that SC judge whos vehicle has 'Judge' written on it.

@@venti1051 You're wrong there. A roll cage is a very serious health hazard until n unless you're driving around wearin a helmet inside your vehicle. In case of an accident, your head will get smacked on it n split right open regardless of whether you've a racing harness or a normal seatbelt on. That's the reason why cars with roll cages aren't permitted on track unless the driver n passenger have helmets on. Some tracks even have a mandate wherein if you don't have foam padding around your roll cage especially in areas where you're most likely to come into contact with it, you will not be allowed to drive regardless of whether you've a helmet on or not. The only exception to this is if you have a half cage like that in the Porsche GT3/GT2 RS.

Modification and wepping will change the cars look. If someone hits and run, witness say it was a modified car with so and so colour. When police tracks down the car by number, it would be a regular car with colour mentioned in the rc. This way the hit and run guy will escape.

Changing colour is legal. Only thing is that you need to take permission from RTO and most cases it gets approved. Reason for permission is to reduce the number of crimes that uses getaway cars.

Supreme court in india runs a parallel government it mostly doesn't care about your views specially if you are a civilian . They interpret constitution according to their moods ,they give bail to rapists or reduce their jail term even though the raped person is killed also, they also open courts at night for terrorists, they like transparency in the election commission but won't accept the same for the procedure of judges selection. Six seven families are making judges from their families CJI and high court and supreme court judges for God knows how long. Wages are too low against the increasing costs. Actually this depends on which state in India you're from. In Mumbai I've seen so many modified cars, bikes etc. Never had issues. Even my own ex gf has wrapped her car with cat graphics ..even she never faced any issue.

In kerala when we were suffering from floods people who took modified 4x4 s for helping people out and rescue operations. Guess what happened they got fined for mods. In India we don't have any big rescue machines to deal with this kind of catastrophes unless military gets involved. At least if the locals living in hilly areas can be able to afford or even improve their 4x4 with mods could help them a lot. But the law is otherwise.

It's totally judicial outreach, this decision is helping car makers to pocket more money, useful features like led lights are only given in top end varients which forces common people to buy these overpriced variants because changing headlights also comes under modification banned by courts, courts have no interests about penalising contractors for such a poor roads in India.

That's not the reason Stock modifications like adding airbags and changing to LED lamps can be done in any car. Just take the car to your local garage and get it installed. My friend got his lights changed from halogen to LED and got fog some extra lamps installed.(no RTO permission needed) The main problem is the boomer nature of supreme court Unko lagta hai car modifications means nitrous and superchargers hi hota hai isliye unhone blanket ban laga diya. They should've at least allowed wraps, spoilers and other body works which make no difference in performance. However they took the easy way out. Instead of researching and determining which mods are unsafe and encourage racing and banning them. They took the easy way out and banned modding entirely

@@sairoadways4365 You can't use aftermarket wheels / tyres which do not match the OEM spec, and cannot use aftermarket suspensions and exhausts, even ones within the decibel range given by the government just because they are not sold by the company that's selling you your motor vehicle. It's such a dumb rule which honestly serves no purpose. If the mods are dangerous then hold whoever used them accountable, don't just ban them.

Car modifications are banned due to issues of structural integrity etc which can result in the cars safety. However they allow the sale of cars from maruti where there’s no basic safety and pathetic built quality with low quality plastics used. Also Hyundai and Kia sell sub standard build vehicles in India, where’s the law here when passenger safety is not considered.

I have wanted to pursue automobile designing since a long time I looked up to how Koenigsegg changed the face of the entire industry with his passion India has humongous scope. It hasn't gone through its auto revolution and there are no Indian supercars that can compete with their international counterparts or even cars from the 80's Unfortunately Tata focuses more on SUVs and the government isn't supportive either so I'm gonna opt for CS next year if i dont end up messing up my exams 🙃

Modification my ass. The type of mods americans do with the engines is performance and comfort related. Also some tasteful colors and decals. But the modifications mostly seen in India are overbright headlights, flashing epilepsy causing lights, unnecessary spoilers, fat tyres jutting out of the vehicle body, purposely increasing exhaust sound volume,etc. Already we are getting 3rd quality cars. Why to modify it and cause problems to others on the road with flashing lights and bright headlights? Engine mods, decals and painting should be allowed with minimal RTO intrusion. But modifications that cause safety issues and inconvenience to other motorists should only be banned.

The Indian government will NOT be in favour of modification. Because the car companies will incur losses because most often than not aftermarket spare parts are better AND cheaper than originals. And if cheaper cars when modified can do stuffs the more expensive cars can do, people will never buy expensive cars. Many cheap cars with great tunability are loved all across the world, even overshadowing more expensive cars. This can't be good for many companies.

I believe that huge manufacturers know the potential of Indian innovation. They know that we are able to compete with even bigger able vehicles if given the freedom. However, they are unable to understand that in order to mod a car, one needs a car, or parts. Overall, it's also a sales opportunity for them. Casual consumers will always be there, and since mods will be more expensive, average Indians will keep purchasing the cheaper regular vehicles.

The tyre pressure thing won't get you in any trouble. I've been to petrols pumps many times and while filling air in the tyres, everyone, and i mean EVERYONE fills 35 psi in all the tyres instead of what their vehicle actually says. Seriously, look at your car's driverside B pillar or motorcycles chain guard or scooters footrests, it says what pressure should be put in the tyres. As for the second one, i don't think anyone is going to notice a slightly shinier finish, they'll just think, "ha, yeh banda apni gaadi bahut saaf rakhta hai"

They will do nothing , because mods aren’t regulated by the government and are imported straight from China . As government is not able to impose taxes on them , they will not allow it . But as we see the tax rate on Alcohol and Cigarette , it is understandable as to why they are not banned by the government . Body kits , customised wraps , lights under 2000 lumens , raised suspension (to minimise damage done by poor road conditions [also caused by negligence of Municipal Corporation]) and freedom to express yourself should be allowed . But as I said earlier , government won’t allow this

Light Rig On The Roof, Loud Exhausts, Neon Lights, Lifted Suspension, Very Low Suspension, Colored LED Headlight Bulbs, Brighter HID Headlights, Nitrous Oxide Systems, Extremely Loud Stereo Systems, Window Tint That's Too Dark, front windshield tint, Cold Air Intake and many more. Buying a car is as good as carrying a room around. Our money to buy a car, then take insurance by force, pay road tax, after that I do not have the right to decorate my room “ car” the way I want. Isn’t it absolutely stupid and unjustified. Indian court should instead tell the government to make good roads, issue driving licences only if people are fit to drive & have cameras installed in crucial places.
