good video! sonic adventure in particular has a lot of nods to its own songs that I like. twinkle circuit uses a different version of it doesn't matter for quite a bit of the song, windy valley act 2 has speed highway act 1's melody later into the song, and the chaos 6 boss theme has bits of open your heart. there's others too (including similar stuff in adventure 2) but those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head right now. if you're planning on making another video like this on sonic I'd recommend giving both of the adventure soundtracks a full listen sometime to see what you can spot, there's a lot of parts of the songs in those games that you don't actually hear while playing!

Here's a super obscure fact: As we all know, Sonic CD has 4 versions of every sing (Present, Past, Good Future, and Bad Future). But not many people know that the past remixes were made using the Sega Genesis'/Master Drive's soundchip! A nice refrence to how cartridge games were becoming tech of the PAST and the CDs were the new norm for the time of Sonic CD.
@draconicruns4 ай бұрын
That's because they weren't, they were made with the CD's own sample-based sound chip, which is more similar to the audio of the SNES

Man, whenever I think of music in video games, I somehow keep going back to Left 4 Dead 2 of all things. I think the closest connection I can make to those kinds of music (subtle references by songs in other songs) is in the Dark Carnival campaign. When you play one of the various minigames in the carnival, a jolly old-school carnival tune will play. If you listen closely, you’ll realize that this is actually the Left 4 Dead 2 main menu theme playing but with a more “carnival circus” vibe to it.
