Nah the most mature relationship on his shows was Quinn and Logan from zoey 101, he actually did a good job writing that cause it wasn’t expected, seddie and creddie were both hella expected, and both unhealthy, Quinn and Logan were healthy and had a better plot, like the whole secret relationship intrigued me

While I definitely see where you're coming from when you said the show got more and more goofy as it went on, I wouldn't say it COMPLETELY lost its seriousness. In Season 4's iGot a Hot Room, Spencer accidentally burns down Carly's entire room, and in a really sweet gesture he makes it up to to her by spending all of the insurance money from a family heirloom lost in the fire on a brand new room for her. Season 5's iMeet the First Lady and Season 6's iGoodbye both deal with Carly's desire to have more time with her military-bound father.

Okay, so observation: Have you ever noticed how unbelievably inconsistent Carly's character is throughout the show? In the earlier seasons, she's depicted as reasonably smart and academically intelligent. There's an episode where she is accepted into a prestigious private school and another episode that specifically points out that she's close to being a Straight-A student. And it was more-or-less established that she's supposed to be kind, smart, and compassionate. Contrast this characterization to the "bad boy" episode where she's extremely shallow, or to episodes in the later seasons where her IQ is practically dropped to that of a spoon- like the episode where she gets her toe stuck in the bathtub faucet. Or most egregiously, the episode where she falls for a sophisticated, preppy smart guy and she pretends to be as well in order to impress him. In that episode, she's portrayed as vapid and bombastically stupid. Like, wasn't she at one point really smart, at least academically? Because of all of this, I have no idea who Carly as a character is supposed to be. Throughout the entire show, she's either extremely bright and sweet or almost as mean as Megan on "Drake & Josh".

I agree. I really love this episode. I didn't like iKiss but I do really like this episode. I find it strange yet not too surprising that any episodes of BOTB for iCarly have counterparts that pulled off similar but way better plots in BB also of iCarly and yet other shows that are on BOTB have similar plots that are done better from Drake & Josh or Zoey 101 or some other show in the Schneider verse on BB.

Yup, this is easily one of my favorites as well. Shame iCarly had to decrease in quality overtime, cause if they kept telling stories like this, they could have been on Drake and Josh's level. But honestly, I'd take lower quality iCarly episodes over any episodes of the modern Schneider shows any day. With a few exceptions. *glares at IDateABadBoy and every Seddy episode*

now's the part where we speculate your next bizarro bakery episode. I say the drake & josh episodes bickering brothers, Josh is Done, or steered straight. Some suggested iGot Detention from iCarly but that just has a situation where the characters need to do something but there's an obstacle. Kid Grounded does that too but the main point of that is sibling rivalry reaching a breaking point to the point where something has to be done about it. The episodes I mentioned do that.

I am beyond excited that your Seddie arc review is coming up soon. I have been waiting for you to do this for I don't know how long. I have A LOT of feeling about that arc considering I was a Seddie shipper from way back in like the second season. You have no idea how many forums I have written my opinion of their friendship/romance on. In terms of iSaved Your Life, I loved how realistic the episode is in terms of how some people date other people because of something significant they went through or for something someone can do for them. The most effective part of the episode, for me at least, is when it is Sam that clues Freddie in to exactly why Carly is dating him. Freddie had been waiting for this moment from all the way back in the Pilot episode and was very happy, almost deliriously so, when it finally happened. He couldn't see the truth that was laying right in front of his face. I genuinely felt horrible for him when he had that conversation with Sam. I also was very sad when he and Carly decide to wait until things have settled down to explore their feelings about dating again. It is kind of too bad that they didn't have at least one additional follow-up storyline where Carly and Freddie do explore their feelings and make a final and permanent decision on whether they should be an official couple or just remain really good friends. Oh, and the conclusion of the blow gun paintball game has to be one of the most epic scenes in the entire history of iCarly. Spencer clearly isn't expecting it and does eventually give props to Sam for how things went down. I could watch that scene on repeat all day long. I do have to say that this episode was pretty fantastic, but it isn't my favorite episode of the series. My favorite is iSpeed Date especially because of the last scene. That scene gets me every time.

It was great up until the end where it showed Josh being rather vindictive and cruel towards Drake. Yes I understand Josh wanted Drake to stay away from him and never talk to him again. But when you see someone being burned by chemicals and having to go through a power washer is your first instinct to laugh at him cruelly along with the entire class. Or is your instinct to see if he needed help and if he was alright. And that Teacher..... Oh man I hated him. I understand Josh hated him too. But he kind of caused Josh to sever ties with Drake. I mean he could have given Josh a copy of the test and sent him to study hall to do it with very minimal damage. But instead he told Josh to screw off and he would be docked a grade for being late.

I will say when it comes to TV Shows I have never been the biggest fan of romance especially for cartoons 7/10 times. Though glad to hear this one was good.:) I think honestly if more Sitcoms or Cartoons took romance a bit more seriously maybe I wouldn't be annoyed with a lot of romance related episodes. While some shows like Hey! Arnold did handle it well there are other ones like FOP which just annoyed me. It wouldn't be so bad for me if it was taken more seriously than just:"Character drinks/finds/whatever that makes them fall in love with another person". IDK this may be just me but when a writer for a TV Show forces romance into a show that didn't have romance in the 1st place it goes very bad quick. I mean hell I can name you many examples of bad romance episodes like the one FOP did in Season 2. That one for the longest time I couldn't even finished as a kid because the ending annoyed me. Though yeah I need to check out this episode because I do like that they took it seriously instead of being silly and over the top about it.

An episode of iCarly where I actually didn't find Mrs. Benson to be annoying; or at least too annoying, that's a miracle in itself! This was a good decent episode; I actually liked the romance part of it more then the humor part of it, which is unusual for me. I'm very different compared to other girls; I don't get into lovey dovey type stuff; but they did it well enough here, at least's it makes more sense then the Freddie/Sam romance. Or the iDate a Bad Boy episode. I found it very mature for thwn to actually tell say that they shouldn't date since he did save her life; at least wait and see if she still has feelings for him later, a very mature thing for them to do and very understandable as well. XD.

The thing about Freddy's mom and how she's treated for laughs when in reality she'd be a really toxic parent, makes me think about Dan Schneider characters and the kind of world they create. Not just in iCarly, but in Drake & Josh and Victorious and various other shows. There's this world of weird, crazy, and unprofessional people. Like that episode of Drake & Josh where Josh gets a package in the mail and says to the mailman "have a good day" to which the mailman responds "don't tell me what to do", which is such a weird nonsensical response, making a joke out of someone misinterpreting politeness as like nagging or something. And Drake is part of that weird nonsensical world, doing really selfish things to people and disregarding their ire towards him. And their teacher Mrs. Hayford, supposedly a good professional teacher, respects Josh as an intelligent student, and yet her personal grudge against Drake shows through- asking him to answer a question in class, Drake answering it correctly, she says he's wrong anyway, asks another student who gives the same answer, and saying they were right- almost as if to rub it in to Drake. Similar characters and behavior can be seen in Schneider's other shows. Just rude, selfish, unprofessional, crazy, and borderline abusive people. Part of me wishes more of a point was made out of that, like it was some kind of commentary of reasonable people struggling to fit into an unreasonable world, or how one could fit into that world if they knew how to play the game right, kind of like how Alice in Wonderland was kind of a commentary about children living in an adult world- how everything was confusing and everyone was just yelling at her. But it wasn't, pretty much every case just kind of exists in isolation for a cheap laugh. If there is any kind of societal commentary worked into them, it's not very apparent to anyone I've heard talk about the shows.

@@taylornoren642 seddie actually was more stable than creddie as there was a whole arc on seddie while creddie had 1 pointless episode of carly liking freddie for what he did, which in my opinion was very stupid on carlys side because in order to be in love with someone, you need to be IN LOVE. which in that case sam and freddie comes in. carly only liked freddie for what he did, sam was still supporting freddie with what he was doing no matter what when they were dating. there was no reason for them to break up as there is many other couples in the world that probably don’t share the same interests either. in iLove You, they said directly that they love each other and kissed when after they said it was over. They even changed the initial break-up to midnight meaning they probably didn’t want to break up that fast and continued kissing each other in the elevator while the relationship was still going. I never saw any of that in Creddie. again, sam would be bothered sooner or later if carly and freddie dated. if sam and freddie’s relationship was that toxic, i wouldnt think it would last and there wouldn’t be 3 episodes of them dating. but instead there was a whole arc but i never saw an arc of creddie. additionally, sam locked herself up into the mental institution because she THOUGHT she was crazy for liking freddie. they’ve spent years of the act of hating each other, so it’s obvious sam will do something like that. yes, sam could’ve treated freddie better friendship wise, but relationship wise seddie wins. i can guarantee you that sams bullying is probably just an act towards freddie to hide feelings and i have proof to support that. 1. in iMake Sam Girlier, carly used freddie as an example to when sam has a crush on someone, sam said “How can I PRETEND to have a crush on Freddie if I’m looking at his face?” see the word play of pretend? she can’t pretend she has a crush on freddie if she already has one. 2. In iDon’t Want To Fight, at the beginning of the show, freddie said: “You know, they say when a girl constantly rips on a guy, it really just means she has a crush on him”, although sam did insult freddie in that manner, she said “YEAH, but i wasn’t ripping on a guy, I was ripping on you”. meaning she agreed and literally just exposed herself saying that she did have a crush on him. Sam also got a little jealous in iFight Shelby Marx when Freddie had a crush on Shelby. OH, and if seddie was THAT toxic, they wouldn’t decide to do their first kiss together. keep in mind that they wanted to do it, it wasn’t forced. so again, friendship wise sam may need to improve (but a theory is that she is bullying freddie for hiding her feelings or just as an instinct of hers since she is a total tomboy) but relationship wise, seddie is superior. carly and freddie were never made for each other since day 1. so idc if it’s your opinion or not, but creddie was a trash couple and seddie is 100x times better

I love Freddie's mom on this show. She's incredibly psychotic and annoying, but whenever she's on screen, I can't stop laughing. She basically serves the same over-the-top comedic purpose as Helen did on "Drake & Josh". Maybe it's because I myself had an extremely overprotective and overbearing mother growing up, so I can relate. One of my favorite jokes involving Ms. Benson was in one episode where Freddie bets Sam that she can't go a full week without insulting him and throughout the episode Freddie is constantly trying to bait Sam into insulting him. This leads to Freddie admitting that his mother makes him sign a contract promising that he shampoos his hair twice. Sam is obviously annoyed by this and the rest of the episode continues. Then later in the episode, before it cuts to commercial, Freddie's mother shows up out of nowhere, saying, "Freddie! You didn't sign the Shampoo Agreement. How do I know if you Double-Poo'd?" To which Freddie responds dully, "And you thought I was kidding." XD My mother never made me sign a freaking contract, but she was constantly paranoid about my hygiene and she did harass me about shampooing twice and using conditioner. So I found it funny.

I agree but I actually don't like the way Freddie's mom treats Carly. She acts as if she tried to get Freddie hurt on purpose, which she would never do unlike Sam. It just makes her as the adult very nasty. I didn't really laugh at her antitcs. Carly and Freddie make a WAY better couple than Sam and Freddie (ugh 😐).

Sam was right this episode. I never got why people say she ruined it for Freddie. If she really liked him, Carly would have liked Freddie FOR HIMSELF, not for what he did this one episode. But in every other episode, she ignores his romantic advances and generally dates whomever she wants. They're better as friends✌🏾️ This was an ok episode. Dan stopped writing well after this episode so all of his shows started to suck. Shame. He should have retired in 2011.
