Also, how ironic, this show went as far as devoting an episode to tell the shippers to calm down and appreciate the show for what it's actually about, only to cave in latter and give into what the shippers (well half of them) demanded. It pretty much symbolizes Snyder`s fall from grace.

- Look, I know everybody’s heard horror stories of groups of fans doing immoral and sometimes illegal things, or just starting civil wars or whatever, but these fans are always either individuals or small organized cliques of radicals that don’t represent the whole fandom. Every time such a story surfaces, the actions of the vocal minority are condemned by the 99% of good fans. (And by the way, arguing doesn’t make a fandom toxic. Arguing is healthy if handled well. If it isn’t handled well and emotions are taken too far, refer back to what I said about radical fans). Every fandom has a vocal minority, even if they don’t make headlines. You’re more likely to hear such stories from bigger communities, but the ratio of “crazy” to “normal” is the same across fandoms as per a statistical phenomenon called the Law of Large Numbers. People hate fandoms all the time, even though they most likely engage in fandoms themselves. Liking something makes you part of that fandom. And before you push up your anime glasses and tell me that “actually, fandom is short for ‘fanatic domain’ and I am a NORMAL fan, not a crazy fanatic”, may I remind you that denotation does not equal connotation, so while “fanatic” brings to mind images of crazy devotion, it’s just the long word for “fan”. Fan is short for fanatic (as per Oxford Dictionary, or Merriam-Webster, I don’t recall), like how rap is an acronym for “rhythm and poetry” but has become its own word. Also, a domain is just a group in the broadest possible sense, accurately capturing how large and diverse fandoms are. Therefore, a fandom is just all the fans of a specific thing. Your level of engagement in a fandom doesn’t determine how much of a fan you are. Fanartists depend on casuals who view their art, for instance. The masses are just as important as the creators. By hating fandoms, you’re also hating on people who have genuinely been helped by finding a sense of community by connecting with like-minded people. Fandoms don’t ruin things for you if you find the right people in said fandom to interact with. With bigger fandoms especially, it’s not hard. I get that negativity is stronger than positivity, but you’ve got to fight that internal conflict for your own good. It’s your fault that vocal minorities of weird fans are never recognized as such, and are instead chalked up to the whole group. Furthermore, if you say that you like x but hate x fandom, you’re hating yourself too. Remember, you’re technically still part of the fandom, and there’s no rules for how much to have to engage with other people in order to be a fan. I know it’s a popular thing on the internet, but homicidal self-deprecation is unhealthy. It doesn’t matter if you’re trying to say “I’m one of the good fans”, people calling your fandom toxic will still not accept you. Nothing inherently wrong with shipping, actions taken in the name of said ships not withstanding. If shipping takes up a significant portion of discourse, it’s a sign that people are drawn to the series in question for its characters and their interactions. And I don’t want to hear “lol triggered” if you felt “triggered” enough to respond to me.

I forgot about the Seddie arc. Probably because I haven’t watched the show in years and I was around 12+ when it first aired. I don’t remember, I’m bad with keeping track of time. But I do remember Jerry Trainer and Jack Black nerding off. Probably a match made in heaven for something like that. When I first watched it I didn’t remember them advertising Jack in it, but was so happy to see the two. Hell, I forgot the rest of the episode because of that amazing pair.

Finally, I've been waiting a LONG TIME for this! BRING ON THAT DAMN SEDDIE ARC!! Also, PieGuy, do you ever plan on covering the crossover episodes "iParty with Victorious" (iCarly + Victorious) and "Danger Games" (Henry Danger and Game Shakers)? Because "iParty With Victorious" DOES HAVE some decent Bizarro Bakery material and I had WAY too many noticable problems with "Danger Games" for it to NOT be on the Bottom of the Bakery. PLEASE CONSIDER!!

I honestly loved this episode - Jack Black's cameo is just so memorable and hilarious - especially once you consider that he appeared with Miranda Cosgrove in School of Rock. I also enjoy the commentary on shipping because while overplayed now, iCarly was one of the first and most appropriate shows to talk about it with. And I like the way they handled it - it's ok to ship but you shouldn't force the relationships to actually happen or let it get to the point where you start a war over it. Just a great episode over all.

Ah the Seddie storyline. When the show change from a show about 3 kids turn teenagers wanting to make a popular web show to a show that was changed to just about the characters relationship. Only liked one of those episodes and that was only becoming Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory guest star
@Lauren_210
@Lauren_210 6 жыл бұрын
Speaking of Big Bang Theory, that is pretty much the reason as to why I stopped watching the show after season 7. During the first three seasons (and some of season 4), the focus of the show was on point: Socially akward, nerdy scientists having fun while at the same time doing their thing as physicists (and an engineer) and watching the dynamic between the four guys and the everyday average woman who is social and represented the audience. In the later seasons, the show derailed from it's original purpose and now it's all about marriage and relationships (pretty much became a nerd version of Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and every other adult sitcom about a group of young adults). I was okay with Leonard and Penny being the main couple focused on the show, but it's not the same as it was as before. I would have been fine if the romance plotlines for Sheldon, Howard, and Raj were wheeved into the show during the last 2-3 seasons and not for 6+ seasons as it is now.

Okay, this episode has a very good point. Shipping happens in every fandom nowadays and almost everyone are going way too far with it. Those things can work with characters who has no love interest in the actual show or film, or if there’s a character with 2 or more love mates and the fans can think about which one of them will be the best for that character. But sadly, in the real life, the fans are going with it so far to the point of shippings that should NOT happen in the first place, like shipping enemies, family related, or 2 characters with huge different ages! Also including turning the straight characters into gay or lesbian, by the way! And this is actually kind of disrespectful, if you'll ask me

When you mentioned how the message was that the Show WOULDN'T dissolve into a romance and the characters wouldn't start dating, I immediately thought of the Sam and Freddie arc and was about to comment, but decided to wait til the end because I noticed you seemed to be avoiding the topic and thought it odd....so glad I waited. XD Actually I caught a few minutes of one last night where Sam's in the psych ward and the only highlight was Jim Parson's guest appearance. So, now we're doing the Seddie arc, eh? Well.... BRING ON THE CHAOS.

I wonder if there could ever be a bottom of the bakery and bizarro bakery on some of the crossover episodes Like I remember the crossover iVictorious as really good. Idk what the bottom of the bakery equivalent would be but I have a sneaking suspicion that that episode where Sam And Cat and iCarly and Victorious wasn’t the best.

When I saw this when I was much younger I thought it was dumb. The fact these fans are shipping actual people in the shows universe just blew my mind and I thought it was something that was only in the show. But NOPE. Jacksepticeye and Markiplier, 2 real people, are shipped or were shipped. The fact that was or is a thing just annoys this shit out of me. In other words, I did something a bit like the Jack Black vs Jerry Trainor thing at a convention. I was dressed up as a jedi and every time I saw a Sith cosplayer with a lightsaber and challenged them to a duel, even a little kid dressed as Vader. It wasn't much of a duel for that one, it was just me posing and the kid smacked me in the knee and I pretended to be defeated. For some reason, most of the cosplayers were Kylo Ren.
