@@BjarneButler Well buddy We will be thinking of you none the less. Just today I dropped a big (for our area) Ponderosa Pine that was right at 52" across the stump and had to swing it slightly to lay it where it wouldn't get all broke up and our son who was running the Tractor with the winch and grapplers on it today hollers at me that we shoulda recorded it to show you ! So you see we all think of you and hope your doing ok. And as always should you ever want to bring your wife to see Mt.Rushmore on vacation all you need do is give us a shout and we will roll out the green carpet for you both. Again Happy Holidays to both of you.

Great videos as always Bjarne. I love watching these videos. I help my son with cutting down trees. He won't touch the 2 Ash on my property, dead needing to be felled. Dangerous trees. I have a question. Those Cedars and Hemlocks are massive. How tall are you, next to those trees, just to get an idea. I just can't imagine bringing those down, and your loving it. No issue with logging but someone is going to have to explain why logging old growth (
@HabeasJ
@HabeasJ 3 жыл бұрын
They're at the end of their lifespan and in order to plant a new forest, the old has to be removed. I'm not saying I agree with the practice, but I think there's a case to be made in favor. Because even governments realize the value of those trees (both as potential lumber and as standing monoliths), the practice of old growth logging is very tightly controlled. And being as a lot of the old growth resides on native lands, those tribes and clans have to "OK" any logging before it goes ahead. . Again, not saying I'm cheering old growth logging on, but it benefits the local communities and provides jobs. And if its okay with the people who view that land as sacred, who am I to say otherwise?
