Almighty Allah created iron in a form to be softened. Therefore, people can soften the iron and make it into the shape they want. Almighty Allah is merciful to people. And people are ungrateful to Allah. A person spends hours on everything in 24 hours. He spends hours watching movies, watching series, watching football, playing games, social networks, walking, reading books, meeting friends and everything else. But he does not devote 10 minutes to worshiping Almighty Allah.

From another old Canadian, one living is Busan, Korea. Bell making on this scale has a long history to it. The "Bell of King Seongdeok", known today as the "Emille Bell", was cast in 771 AD. It now resides at the GyeongJu National Museum. While watching this video, I wondered how the craftmen of that time were able to do each step of the process without modern cranes, etc. The process was likely same, but with many more people doing the lifting. As for this bell, it was cast for the Jung Heung Sa (Jung Heung Temple) as part of the temples restoration in 2012, hence all the new wood in its pavillion.

@@motherlandmars5999 For the record, this is no place for a religious infomercial. Mind you, this bell was cast for a Buddhist temple, but then Buddha was a real person and not a god. As for the bell, it likely was cast in bronze, not iron. Iron rusts; bronze doesn't. Your allah didn't get the physical properties of iron quite correct, did he?

Very good and interesting on how the GONGS are made. Heard some while I was stationed in KOREA in the 80's. I will always remember that sound.

Thank you for the wonderful glimpse of a most worshipful act of patient and attentive construction. For anyone who has done even a little work in ceramics, bisque ware, or lost wax jewelry, it is astonishing. They understood how to achieve such a refined and delicate thing from methods that, to an outsider, seem impossibly improvised approximations. But these artisans are each in fact, like a violinist whose years of practice places fingertips precisely on the unmarked fingerboard for each pitch of the music

Unrelated but the fact that you summarize the whole video in the first 30 seconds is so underrated - it’s the only reason I clicked because I wanted to see the details between each step shown!!❤

I enjoyed watching these craftsmen, a narrative explaining what each process is and why it’s necessary would have been useful.

The hardest part is taking into account that as the bronze cools, it contracts. To avoid the bell cracking as it cools, the casting sand has to move with it, while retaining enough support for the bronze not to slump. The thickness of the sand has to allow this to happen proportionately to the varying diameter. The interior support is the most critical. Originally, the bonding agent for the sand was was made by boiling fish bones for hours to form a glue, then diluting the residue correctly for the sand to move without cracking. You can see this briefly, starting at 12:30 I was wondering whether the original bonding agent is still used today, or whether modern resins are now used. The colour of the liquid looked like the old school solution to me. It has taken a full paragraph to explain one small point. A full narration would have more than doubled the length of the video and probably completely baffled most viewers.

"So... what does it mean when the bell rings?" "That it is time for tea." "Oh... right." (long awkward silence) "Must be very good tea." "Oh yes, most excellent tea."
