Interesting video as always :-) One thing worth mentioning though, is that even with the low temperature, your consumption seems to be on the high side. I think it might be down to driving the entire trip in sports- and comfort mode. The E-tron will disengage the front motor in “normal driving mode”, as Audi puts it, which I guess could mean that it does not do it when driving in sports mode? Also when the car is in comfort, the ride height is higher than in Effecient or Dynamic, which adds drag. It would be interesting to see the test done in the summer and with everything in Effeciancy mode :-) I think you could possibly beat your old time by a bit.

When I see this high consumption it seems you always drive uphill :) a few weeks ago, I drove 570km with an e-tron, average speed over this distance was 121km/h! The consumption was 32,4kWh/100km. I drove a lot of time 160km/h and it was cold too. Another trip over this distance, slower and with temperatures around 5-10C with an average speed of 91km/h, the consumption was 22,7kWh/100km. Both trips with 19" winter tires.

I would say in normal times, two weeks downtime is max. One week for the owner to recognize the problem, diagnose the problem, and properly submit a service ticket. One week for the service field team to order supplies, travel, and fix. In pandemic times, I will say six weeks: add four more weeks for logistics delays.

Just driven 200 miles today, eTron 55 sportback, 21" tyres, mostly on the motorway (UK) at 70mph, some cross country, 7 degrees, heavy rain at times, i got 23.1 per 100km. That level of efficiency happens frequently. Had the car set at 22 degrees hvac, no hypermiling, drafting or whatever, just driving motorway, A or B road speeds, not sure why your figures are so bad (temperature?). On the m'way I was driving in efficiency and cross country in dynamic. My trip computer average over 25,000 miles is 24.85 kWh per 100km. Not the best but nothing like the inefficiency you are getting. In -3 or -4 temperatures, on winter tyres, I was getting around 25.89 on a similar trip. BTW, I set off on the last 186 mile segment, car said I'd arrive with 3%, got home with 5% (started with 87percent - getting slightly more on arrival, than predicted at the start, is a welcome and frequent experience. Nice to see someone showing some appreciation for the fat eTron, it's a great car., despite being a 3 yr old design. Chargers need to be fixed in 24 hrs, IMO.

It's interesting that e.on, as a German charge point operator is directly selling power via debit/credit card cheaper than when using a charging cards,. In Germany, we see a lot of opposition to mandatory bank card terminals at DC chargers, arguing that nobody will use them as ad-hoc prices are always more expensive than when using a charging card. However, given the huge overhead of charging cards (which, in the end, usually get the money from the very same account linked to the debit/credit card), it might be that card payment at the charger is cheaper. Maybe Norway will - again - be an example for that.

As the e-tron counts travelling time and calculates average (lower) speed if you leave the car switched on during the charging stops and even get it heated during that time - I guess this fully spoils your average consumption as the heated waiting time goes into the calculation.

Ok, e-tron is thirsty - there is no way around it, but why to drive in Comfort + S mode? I've driven e-tron 55 for a year and there _is_ a difference in consumption when driving Comfort+S vs. Efficiency+E. I've even checked with OBDeleven that in the S mode the both of the motors are awake almost all the time, whereas in E mode the front motor is almost always asleep and is woken only when there is quite a much higher demand for torque/acceleration. Maybe it wouldn't impact in 1000 km challenge, but still...

@@bjornnyland I agree. No difference between D and S. But there is a difference between D/S vs. E. Partially because of in the Efficiency mode the air susp goes to the lowest possible setting and partially because the car then mostly uses the rear motor and it uses it also very conservatively. Go pedal is very much tuned down and the car feels extremely sluggish. But still... I get ~2ish kWh/100 km less in E mode. Do I use it often? No. I didn't get e-tron so that I can drive economically.
