Shelly Manne’s men are such good musicians.Richie Kamuca solo,so laidback,Jo Gordon livens it up, and Then Victor Feldmans phenomenal piano solo amazing,massive chords behind some delicate octave blue notes,And then Monty Budwig a magnificent Bass solo...and WHAT an ending.You will never hear the like again!!!.

Do get the whole 4 LP/ 5 CD set folks. These small-club live recordings of - Shelley Manne and his Men - are imo the best and rec. in 1959 over a w/end. Perfectly recorded by Howard Holzer of Contemporary Records. This incredible quintet played their hearts/souls out. Absolutely the very best of Jazz. The sad part is that this famous West-Coast jazz club got pulled down and is now a bloody parking lot. But do dig/enjoy this brilliant performance. G’day & Cheers!
