Interesting. I'm new to henna and just learning about jagua. I noticed that you didn't leave the henna to dye release for very long. Is that because of the jagua?
@HennaSooq7 жыл бұрын
In general I don't personally leave either my henna paste nor jagua paste out for too long because I freeze it to give it a boost in color and general as I thaw it the color really releases perfectly. Otherwise in general if it's being left out and used right away you can leave it out for a total of 8-10 hours about.

Thanks for the video! You don't have to let it sit out for dye release?
@HennaSooq7 жыл бұрын
I personally let it sit for maybe a couple hours then I cone it and freeze it. The freezing gives it an amazing boost in color. Then I take only what cones I want at a time. If you want to use your past right away, then let it sit 6-8 hours or longer if needed but keep checking on it.

What amount of molasses should be used per 200 grams of henna powder (for those of us on the West coast)?

Hi Ana. I'd probably say about 4-6 tbsp. You may need to experiment a little. I only used molasses a couple of times. I know Debi Varvi of Henna Crone uses molasses all the time and would know better. Are you on facebook?

HennaSooq, have you ever used coconut milk in henna? This is what I use and it gives almost instant dye release.

how long do you let the paste sit. is it like regular henna i usually just use rajistani henna and it takes 5-8 hours for dye release? is there a dye release with the jagua juice?
@HennaSooq7 жыл бұрын
We mix it like regular henna paste so it sits the same amount of time. Usually about 5-8 hours total. Then our trick is that we freeze the cones or bulk paste and then use as needed and thaw at room temperature and this boosts the color. The jagua juice is added directly and dyes almost immediately. We just have to wait on the henna to catch up. We hope this helps!

I’m new to henna, just started using it on my hair. But thought you had to keep away from metal objects when mixing henna is this true. Thanks
@HennaSooq4 жыл бұрын
Some henna powders and herbs yes. Definitely clays, no metal. If the henna and ayurvedic herbs are pure then there is no issue. In the past some henna powders were compound henna or contained metallic salts so this would conflict. This is why inner foil is okay against the herbs in pouches, like we carry them.

Thanks so much for this very informative video! I have been wondering how to incorporate jagua into my henna paste and this answered a lot of questions I had. Also, I had never heard about using a wetter form of sugar if living in drier climates, so I'm definitely going to do a bit more research and give that a try as well! Fun fact, since the use of jagua in body art originated in regions of South America, I believe the most accurate pronunciation is: hag-wa ;)
@HennaSooq7 жыл бұрын
reinerca perfect! You're welcome. Yes the proper pronunciation because it's a Spanish word would be : yag-wa. Because the j make the y sound like on Juan.

Can this henna be used for eyebrow tatoos? If so, does it come in other colors?
@HennaSooq7 жыл бұрын
Henna can be used to dye the eyebrows but not to create eyebrows (not really well as it's not strong enough for such thin skin in that area). There are variations of colors you can create which are the same color tones you'd get when dying your hair. Keisha do you use henna currently?
@liseiaparisian28814 жыл бұрын
@@HennaSooq @HennaSooq I am interested in natural eyebrow tinting too. My eyebrows are on the lowish density side so I need something that dyes both the hairs AND the skin to get the look I desire. What about doing a mixture of henna with indigo, jagua and maybe black walnut hull to stain the skin and hairs under the eyebrows? It would be amazing to see you guys do a couple of videos on eyebrow tinting with herbs as most of the videos and articles online referring to "henna brows" are actually mixtures made with dangerous PPD. I really want to level up my brows with natural herbal dyes. If you guys could come out with a dye mixture made for staining both the eyebrow hairs and skin it would be a big hit in my opinion since its a pretty uptapped market and as of now the only 100% natural brow dye that stains both the hair and skin that contains jagua & henna I have seen so far is a product called "Brow Henna" by Henna Art Canada and they have 3 colors available.

Super sad to see you use a tag line of “black henna.” You and I both know full well that there is no such thing and that jagua is a different thing all together. A thing that happens to be very dangerous to those with fruit and latex allergies. People need to know the truth of what goes on their bodies!

Hey there. Sorry you feel this way. Black Henna is a term that can also attract people to come find out a natural way to create a black staining henna by just using jagua juice. I think it's rude of you, to presume that I don't inform my clients or students I have here on our channel or when I'm working. If you have issues with jagua, that is up to you to figure out for your own self. I'm 42 years old and I am pretty secure with who I am and what I teach and what I do for others. Good luck to you. Keep in mind, the energy you put out, is the energy you receive. Stay blessed.
