I have to admit I never heard of you or any of your music. I lost my 23 year old son in 2009 to oxy overdose and while I am working out at the gym I listen to his IPOD for some kind of strength. He had your song "In This River" I lost it at the gym, so came home and started researching you. and came across this song. Your words say it all...God Bless You...thank you... a mom with a broken heart

+Pam Koenig I was at about the lowest point in my life in college when I discovered Zakk and BLS. I dated the same girl from the time I was 16 until I was 22. After years and years or being cheated on and having no confidence, I kicked her out and decided I needed to be on my own. I'll be honest in saying that Zakk saved my life. I'll admin that I drank case after case of beer while sitting in strip club parking lots, church parking lots, you name it, but in the end, I could relate and decided there was more to life. Needless to say, I'm still a HUGE, if not the biggest fan anyone can even imagine. This was back in 2006. So, here we are, 10 years late, and I'm still relating and needing this for different reasons. Honestly, I think this is the best discovery you could have found in your sons possessions. I've been to concerts of Zakk's, listened to stuff from when he was in HS, Pride and Glory, etc. Stay strong and keep your head up!

I was privileged enough to meet Zakk once a few years ago. I was in a hotel in Saskatoon. I approached him in the lobby and told him how much his music meant to me. He invited me to hang with him in his tour bus. We talked for a couple of hours, he let me play his guitars... even the Rhodes flying V. He shared a lot of his personal experience with me and how he supported the underprivileged, his spiritual journey, struggles, etc. What a great sensitive man. We're all in this together. So glad to see you are doing well these days. Love ya my friend❤

Lost my husband August of 2021 to Covid. Married 35 years, together a total of 40 years. I was so lost and devastated...he was gone in the blink of an eye. He was a guitarist, singer and I sing and play piano. Traveled for years all over playing and singing. The drummer from one of our bands which happens to be a long time childhood friend saved my life by talking me out of ending it. I told him he made me want to live again and he sent me your song. I immediately fell in love with your songs and listen to them all the time. In a nut shell....I am now dating "my drummer". Thank you father Zakk for all the beautiful words and music. my dad was a biker, he was also a pretty bad alcoholic. he wasnt a part of my life really, but i did love him dearly. i think i must have gotten about a week totals worth of time with him in my whole life. "the scars that he may never mend" my dad died at 51 in November. 2 heart attacks and he had no DNR, so they called me from states away to basically get consent to end his life. My mom got his wallet for me (she lives in that same state) and mailed it to me. i opened a cardboard box with a leather chain wallet and a watch, that was my funeral. i played another spoke in the wheel and this one came on after. never heard it before but I'll tie it to my father for the rest of my days.

Your a good soul, I can respect your ability to love and try to understand your dad. What people never seem to be able to imagine is what others have endured that has made them broken and scared as they have become My daughter hasn’t spoken a word with me since just before she turned 14 She is now 23, and it’s like my heart and soul has been ripped out of my being! I can’t imagine even attempting to take on any relationships without finding some resolve between her and I first. She is just much too good a human being than I’m worth getting to have known But I drop off gifts on birthdays and Christmas and write and text her all the time But she is dead set and I respect her commitment She just doesn’t realize mine to love her is the same God Bless You Brother may your heart be healed and your love be forever strong🙏 Amen Trump 2024 🇺🇸🙏 Fix what’s fixed and broken our Democracy

What a horrific Loss... I'm so petrified by the depth of your Loss... I do not know how that feels and don't want to... But I hope that you can find the grace to make it through all those memories and scars that developed... Zakk is just part of that healing process, by speaking the Truth that is only revealed to us through God Almighty and His Son Jesus Christ... Not to sound religious, but only He has the Power to overcome what we cannot possibly do. So anyway I just wanted to wish you God Speed and try to get involved with people who are in the fight against the Heroin addiction, because it always kills eventually... And educating I people about that is a good first step. It's Human nature to think that we'll be different and it won't control us... But no one is an exception to that addiction.. because it's Spiritual and Physical as you know... They have to have it to Not get sick... And it's the Devil's nature to want to destroy what God the Father created out of Love. We have to Hate the Evil that it is... Too many people look down at the drug addict, because they don't understand that it's not a character defect, or a low bottom scum that they call them. It's the cells of your body addicted to something and once dependant on that substance, the cells have to have it... It has nothing to do with the person's personality, or weaknesses or anything like that.... I said all this to say, please don't blame yourself or you're deceased child... Put the blame on the substance and the society that enables our children to think that's it's no big thing... When we all know damn better that it's a killer. Try to do something to fight against it, and you will be better off, mentally and emotionally. Sorry for the Long verbage and forgive my assumption that you even want to hear my opinion.

Thank you Zakk, I am very grateful to you since 1995 and I feel that especially now you share a very personal part of you in your music. Your last works are great, first they bring pain and then they cure... but such songs help to keep those good days with best friends...

I've lost 2 sons in 2 yrs, almost to the very same day. I can't explain it, but have felt drawn to 2 of your songs I have listened for years (Blood is Thicker than Water) and (In this River). The insomnia is unreal these days, and I just found this song. Thank you . . .#GodBless

Say your piece, for I'll be on my way One last look, nothing left to say As I turn my back, to walk away I shall forgive but I won't forget that day For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend When lies become the truth, well, you've got your beliefs No burdens on your mind, they're buried beneath your feet As I turn my back, to walk away I shall forgive but I won't forget that day For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend
