This is so random but I love how Kev is growing just being himself. Melissa too! They are being so honest, but to be able to keep a crowd like that while talking about something as intimate as their own marriage -- I'm all for it! So happy for them!

Dondre's comment, "My job is to stay out of the streets. Your job is to make it easier." I think that works both ways. Women are made to believe that if they don't do the right thing, men will stray. While that is true, husband's need to remember the same about their wives. Women want love not just sex. Rules might work for some women, but not many. And I'm sorry but, I would NEVER want my marital business out there for everyone to know. That's not knocking anyone else's choice.

Men and women have a different wiring when it comes to sexual dersire, sex drive etc. So most women need to feel wanted and special to have sex. Men usually are the oposite we feel special after we have sex... we just have to negotiate and communicate our needs.

OMG Yes!! That's the problem with society in general, women NEVER speak honestly about it, so men assume we feel the EXACT same way about sex in general. Then, they use it to gaslight the women in their lives who do have the guts to be honest about it in their relationship...They even assume that the reasons we actually DO want it (WHEN we do) are the exact same as why men want and need it 😕 I don't know why women can't just be honest.

I'm glad they didn't. Because there is a saying that basically translates to: "also pay attention to what's NOT being said". Women are NOT biologically wired like men, and never will be (just like men are not wired like women). As a woman, I know that's why they were quiet. For the most part, we don't feel the *EXACT* same way as men do about sex in a relationship...and we've been conditioned by a patriarchal society to be as dishonest or quiet as possible about it.

@dumfriesspearhead7398
@dumfriesspearhead7398 3 жыл бұрын
Women get bored of sex in long term relationships much more quickly than men. Sex can easily seem like another chore on top of everything else. But there are women who have higher sex drives than their partners. The figure is about 33 percent. Not the majority, but a higher figure than you might think.
@enmodelife
@enmodelife 3 жыл бұрын
Truth is, most married women DO like it... but we don't think the same way about sex in a relationship as how men think, because we are simply NOT men. And it becomes a chore in our mind over time because we feel like the constant frequency men need is held over our heads and silently demanded of us. Also, for most women, we go almost our ENTIRE lives from early teens (some earlier, sadly) only being wanted for what's between our legs, so sometimes (and ESPECIALLY after we say I do) it would be nice to know how wonderful and special we are outside of what's between our legs - and with EXACTLY the same frequency as the husband wants sex. Some men are better at providing that type of validation to his woman than others. The women's body language and lack of verbal exchange to me looked like disappointment that their husbands were not speaking about wanting and valuing their other qualities/"special-ness" with the same amount of importance and excitement as wanting their legs open. Smart and secure women everywhere (emphasis on smart and secure) understand very well that it takes *NOTHING* for a man to want sex from a woman. He can easily have very fulfilling sex with a total stranger or prostitute. So it's simply just not impressive or "special" to us when a man expresses sexual interest. Even if it's from our husband.

Yes.....so without doing any research, or taking into account any context, you are able to discern the exact meaning of one phrase in isolation. This is exactly how fake news gets spread folks. The truth is, as one of the producers and creators of the show, no one can arguably say they are more invested than he is. As for the remark, although I am not condoning the way he chose to express it, in context it conveyed a meaning that most can support, which is why several in the audience clapped in support after he said it on the clip. #relevantfactsalwaysmatter
@charles6724
@charles6724 4 жыл бұрын
@Anita Winston yes he was being honest...no one is disputing that. The issue is what did he mean by the comment and in isolation the comment sounds like a dis to everybody else, but in context, his answer makes perfect sense, although I agree that it could've been worded better. I said his "answer" because what he said responded to a question. His wife asked each of the couples to respond to a question, but before she asks the question, she summarizes Deondre's answer in the video clip which was "work as hard at your marriage as your money." the female host then asks the question, "what is the one thing that you want your spouse to make a priority?" Her husband said, "I just need you to pay attention to me. Here's the thing, you all are nice n all, but I don't give a shit about you'll, I need you (my wife) to pay attention to me." In context that means, despite our responsibility to grind for this to be what it is, I want you babe to make sure that you pay attention to me and my needs, and the show will take care of itself. Deondre basically had said the same thing in the opening video clip when he said, if we aren't careful, we could have great careers and no marriage. The male host is not just a financial backer, he's one of the creators and producers of the show. Its literally his baby and yet what he was communicating is, as important as my baby (the show) is, I married you and you are my baby such that by paying attention to me, you provide value that the show can't ever provide. So prioritize paying attention to me and we good. No question he was keeping it real honest.

Women let's be clear men at times just want to kick everybody out the pool, dog, cat, kids, in laws, friends, work, to have a moment with the two of you in the pool naked. What am I saying you can see his flaws and he can see your flaws but because you two got a moment alone without everyone else you can have a real conversation on how to resolve things and yet be intimate enough when you two come out the pool all those things with family, kids, work, dog, cat in laws can be resolved? Sometimes it's just that simple.

Overwhelmingly, what I hear from married males has been reiterated here...................even in a marriage, the males are largely reduced to "pussy beggars". Evidently, it 'works' for a lot of males, but it just seems odd to me that these 3 successful black males are essentially begging for (more) sex and/or time alone with their wives. Interesting to me, that more men don't see this as problematic. I'm sayin'............I took it that Dondre initiated the "3 day rule", not Salli. Similarly, my married acquaintances make it seem like their wives can "take or leave" the sex.

I didn't see any mention of begging for sex or wanting more sex. In fact, they seemed to be suggesting that their marriages have thrived because they are sexually satisfied.
@enmodelife
@enmodelife 3 жыл бұрын
Your acquaintances make it seem that way because it is the truth of the majority of women (myself included). We can generally take it or leave it outside of maybe the 1-2 days per month when we are ovulating and have that "urge". We are just not wired like men, and never will be. It has nothing to do with my man's prowess or attractiveness (again, women are not wired like men, we want sex for different reasons than men). It is partially due to the lack of testosterone in my body, and me biogically wired to having a higher level of emotional needs than physical.

She laughs at his jokes but... ehh, idk what’s going on there.. as a viewer the chemistry in every video is like she can’t lean further away from him, or even touch him. Also, the comment from the guy with his foot on the beige couch, about him not giving af about us viewers, he needs his wife’s attention.. that was very telling. Super cringe.

You should watch their regular videos they are HILARIOUS! She's a serious introvert so doing a show like this is probably out of her comfort zone. They definitely love each other...this was probably just a crazy night. Also the couple in the middle are the creators and hosts of the show Black Love -- they definitely have their issues but they admitted that's why they started this tv show to gain insight and tips for their own marriage. I'm all for it....if you can make money and work on your relationship #winwin

I don't understand the need to prioritize sex in a relationship. A woman is only fertile 4 days out the month and after ovulation the next two weeks of sore boobs, bloating, hormones, and cramps until you finally get your period kind of kills the mood. Why not prioritize emotional and mental connection instead.

Huh? You do know that emotional and mental connection are a part of sex right? In addition, most PMS symptoms occur about 1-2 weeks prior to ovulation and are often alleviated by the endorphin release associated with sex.

@@ederlinerosenberg6813 oh I'm being serious. Prioritizing sex in a reationship seems idiotic when there are so many other things that need to be focused on. Anybody can be sexually compatible, hell people who have divorced or broken up sometimes still have sex. Work on the important things, prioritize them.
@x0xTHLover4Lifex0x
@x0xTHLover4Lifex0x 4 жыл бұрын
@@lvw7668 sometimes it is but not all the time. Sometimes sex is just about sex, the physicality and the reproducrive nature of it. Depending on some people's experiences with sex it may never be an emotional thing to them. But communication, the ablity to talk to one another, spending quality time, maybe even just cuddling can be far more effective than sex.
@x0xTHLover4Lifex0x
@x0xTHLover4Lifex0x 4 жыл бұрын
@@lvw7668 and no. PMS symptoms occur 1-2 weeks POST ovulation not prior. And again, no its menstrual cramps that are alleviated by sex after the period has already started. The drop and surge in hormones after ovulation makes sex undesirable for most women during PMS because of low estrgen. The vagina doesn't become as wet, most regular erogenous zones are sore or bloated , not to mention the overall mood of the women. Honestly read a damn book if you're a man and if you're a woman...I'm disgusted that you don't know this.
