I don’t see a problem with interracial dating(although I have a bias against white/black mixes admittedly). I think we don’t highlight how toxic relationship culture has become within the black community, and until we can address that and come to an understanding, there is no immediate fix to the issue of culture vultures invading our space on the premise of “I’m dating a black person” or “I have black friends”. Black men of the older generations don’t want to mentor young men, and, let’s also admit, absent black fathers make it harder for younger black generations to have faith or trust in the elder generations of black men. There’s so much damage and trauma but nobody is willing to oversee the faults in their brethren continuing this cycle of “don’t trust any nigga”. White, Black, Asian, etc. So before we tackle “who’s dating who” and “who’s the cause for this” we have to heal as a community and learn to respect eachother on some level. Most of us in the black community will pick to hire a white man before we take time to pick out a young brother who we can mentor and show key trading knowledge to increase the wealth of OUR community. You see all black brands pop up everywhere, and they have 15 mins of fame, then disappear because of the lack of support. We have enough soul food restaurants, enough fashion designers, enough entertainers. When will there be a black creator with an app design to teach coding skills, architects to teach arithmetic and 4D level application to geometry, or Executive support appliances in business and finance? Not to say there aren’t mentors now, but they usually start at the lower levels and deal with limited opportunity jobs in an already competitive or dominated market that’s already on the low end. Until you see something along these lines, it doesn’t matter who the BM or BW dates, all we’ll be doing is pumping out more byproducts of the same failed social structure we impose on ourselves. 🤷🏾‍♂️
@thecommentor6870
@thecommentor6870 Жыл бұрын
You're right, centralizing our resources and economy is probably the most important factor for our development. However, that's a long-term process. Remember that we also need a short-term goal as well, which should be connected to the bigger picture. They way I look at it is that if we can gather the resources and circulate the Black dollar in our community before it escapes, we are already a force to be reckoned with, but that cannot happen without structure and organization. Where's that structure going to come from? The Jews for example have had that level of discipline for centuries now, it didn't just start when they arrived in America, it can be traced as far back as their time in Europe or all the way back to them being in Egypt. Supporting black-owned banks, businesses and schools over white-owned institutions in theory should be prioritized, but how do you convince a group of people that don't believe they don't owe each other anything? Think about it for a second, they don't work for each other because most of them work for the white man. They don't have a code of conduct, because there's no way to enforce it since once again, their liberty and income is not dependent on each other, it's dependent on the white man. This is why it's very easy, sometimes even profitable to be a 🦝 in this white man controlled economy. If Black folks controlled their own income, nobody would dare say anything that would be detrimental to the group. I just listed a number of problems that can and will stand in the way of getting us to support our Black enterprises. The question should be on how we can tackle that? How can we solve the problem of our scattered population? How can we solve the problem of our lack of code? How can we solve our problem of the dependence mindset? You and I may know better, but we are talking about the rest of the Black population who are your average everyday people. They may not see anything wrong with what I said, so how do you tackle it? Interracial dating isn't a factor, it's a symptom of a larger problem. If your people don't think they owe each other anything financially or morally or other, then they are more likely to be open to the possibility of dating other races. The problem is not so much about the act, but the why of it all. White people in general (if they aren't a white supremacist) have less of a reason to be against interracial marriage because they already have everything they need as a community, and they are in the majority. Black people need to stop relying on others and build, so in this active phase the demand for your own people should be more because you can only build with them. May be if we got to our goals and our numbers went up, then it won't be as much of a problem as it is right now. TL;DR IR dating is a symptom of the idea that we don't need each other, which also affects why we don't support Black owned business over white owned business. Curing the dependence mindset will cure both issues, but it will probably take centuries.
@gibanz8754
@gibanz8754 Жыл бұрын
@@thecommentor6870 I don’t think who you date dictates who you do business with. You can date a Latina and still prioritize working with other black business owners/specialists and still have a simple mixed personal life. Who we lay in bed with, does not determine who our business goes to. There are plenty of pro-blacks out there with partners of a different race that simply want the best for their culture. Part of IR dating is sharing and rejoicing in each other’s culture. If I have a rich culture, I will want to continue to expand on it and grow with it and share it with the world. But right now, we have BW fighting BM, BM ignoring BW, and Black households with single parents and no communication skills between generations. BW want BM who have more money… BM want BW who are more reserved and family oriented. These are 2 separate values that do not intersect. So, if you want BW to focus more on BM and building homes with them rather than shun and try to shame them into submission(not saying you personally, but moreso the community of BM as a whole) we will continue to get nowhere. And vice-versa for BW with BM. I don’t blame BW for wanting security and to be recognized on an equal platform with other races, nor do I blame the BM for it. But until we start building our own social structure apart from that of others, it’ll be an endless cycle. Like you said, WE may see the bigger picture, but the average black person is focused on today. They don’t want to wait 10 years or 15 years to build a family or home. They don’t want to dedicate their entire lives to rebuilding a broken culture that doesn’t enrich itself. I, for sure, don’t. If you want to marry Latin, Asian, Arab, Hispanic, whatever, go ahead, but if you’re helping funnel money back into the black community… it doesn’t matter. History has already shown that lower socioeconomic groups will always breed at a higher rate than the rich or wealthy individuals, who tend to follow selective breeding patterns, anyway. The black gene will never die out. Because whether the masses are at the bottom of the black social and economic hierarchy, or the world’s hierarchy, we’ll always breed at a higher rate than most. And we have the strongest gene pool on top of that. Most mixed(BL/OTHER) households tend to prioritize on implementing black culture in the home anyway. Christianity, avoiding aggressive engagements, discerning racism and prejudice, putting family first, celebrating and understanding black history in America. And etc

Frederick Douglass shouldn’t catch a stray. The main point against dating white as black men is primarily tied to OFFSPRING and PASSED DOWN WEALTH. Douglass had black children with his black wife who later died. After her death he then married a white woman and gave her no children/legacy. LGBTQ folks cannot procreate to leave legacy either. While I’m not for their agenda for over (keyword; not equal) representation, I don’t think gay men dating white deserves much smoke considering they cannot procreate. There should be more angst towards the heterosexual men because, while I won’t begrudge your offspring, it is your offspring that bring about redefinition of what it means to be Black, causing confusion… #PlaneLanded (We can address the wealth transfer portion some other time)

Love is love and hard to find for most people. Supporting the black community is not exclusive to dating or relationship choices in regards to race/ethnicity/skin color. Now preferring or only dating an outside group or skin color is problematic in regards to identity. Self image and black love can come in different combinations. Support is support in this dangerous world. Malcolm X learned this towards his end.

We don't want to ban abortion and murder, and incest, but Jesus Christ is coming back to judge all sins and the lake of fire will be burning up all unrepentant soul, adulterers, murderers, robbers, those who are telling lies and those who hate Jesus Christ.

Id argue that the same way black people who feel othered by their general interests that arent considered “black” by example say anime or skateboarding (recently accepted things that still are othered) , this may be the same reason gay black men may gravitate towards white men (especially in segregated time periods) pushes them towards those that they feel “accept” them fully. Like me enjoying anime doesn’t make old school blacks think something is strange about me but if i was into the same sex they’d look down on it in a culture context. Just a fact. Its literally just the feeling of otherness and the bond grown from that. Kinda like trauma bonding sorta but usually one-sided. Idk just a thought.
