Graphene is the real world version of Vibranium! Black Panther might be a bit too scifi, but we can come close! :)

Vibranium Economics has confused me more than the fictional substance itself. We have a tiny valley of people, who mine a super-useful mineral. But explicitly don't sell it... They just hoard the stuff. It's so commonplace there that it is used in farming tools haphazardly. Therefore I can guess that there is galloping inflation in the vibranium industry. This somehow affords them the wealth and power to build a futuristic technological utopia while still having a ruling government of totalitarian fascist nepotism that can be toppled only by regular fisticuffs at the very top of the hierarchy.. no mention of democracy. Only a better fighter is the sole qualification. So... How is the economy different from Underpants Gnomes? It basically boills down to... Step 1. Collect Vibranium Step 2. ...?... Step 3. Profit!

I assume they can sell items made in conjunction with the use of vibranium tools, like mining of other minerals etc and trade in a similar way North Korea does through China since they are so heavily sanctioned. Regardless of democracy, hoarding that amount of wealth is just evil

Yeah it really doesn't make any sense if they have a market economy.

We know vibranium absorbs energy, we know nanites absorb energy, is it so hard to put those two together and say that the nanites are made of vibranium?

@@rajiv8k then they wouldnt be nanites, they would just be vibranium. I think the problem w your statement is that vibranium doesn't absorb energy, it's the nanites within vibranium that absorb the energy as the original poster commented

This comes across as more film geek, than science. The idea that vibranium is based on anything other than some artist's imagination is ridiculous. There is a big difference between natural properties and practical applications and trying to justify the wishful thinking in films like this, is nothing to do with science and everything to do with wishful thinking.

Funny enough, 500 years ago "flying machines" were mere "wishful thinking". 100 years ago "going to space with a spaceship" was mere "wishful thinking". 25 years ago rather cheap, portable lightweight computing devices to also communicate with were "wishful thinking". I could go on, but I hope you see now that "wishful thinking" often leads to the scientific reality we live in today.

I'm sorry but black Panthers suit makes absolutely no sense and is a huge plot hole. According to the rules of the universe, vibranium completely reflects all kinetic energy. 100% reflective means no storing of energy is possible. Also about your other videos like metal from space giving a technological advantage is also bs. There was no technological advancement for our ancient civilizations, just slightly stronger blades for a time. And you said shuri is your favourite movie scientist because every other movie just has an old white dude. Like that is just blatantly false and so unfair to ask the work done previously by other women. Not to mention she is more of an engineer. You sure these videos aren't sponsored by Marvel? Or are you just a huge corporate shill? So disgraceful. I expected better from a supposed scientist.

"According to the rules of the universe" lol. Where did you get that from, or rather, what is it supposed to mean? Also, the metal from meteorites gave them an advanTAGE, by being able to craft with these other metals, not advanCEMENT in a societal sense. Pretty sure he didnt mean every other movie literally, but rather the old white guy is a stereotypical archetype and its important for children of both gender and every race to know that they too can be scientists one day. Who hurt you?
