This song is fire and this version just burned the forest down. I'd recommend watching the music video as well because it's awesome in its own right. And like her musical twin Ren, she produces her own music. Wonder if she got her gun from Pete and Bas😂😂😂🤔🤔🤔

1. You HAVE to listen to original! Listening to this after the original was shocking, I wonder how shocked you will be dying it in reverse. 2. She sings "hands off my hair", not hold my hair 3. This is a very specific abusive relationship - with music industry, (which I suppose you will like). Chinchilla dropped her label and management and went completely independent and this is the first song that she published (BTW she was told again and again that this song is not gonna fly, but she did it anyway). Thus "hold my earrings for my debut". This is her F you to the industry. 4. When you listen to the original, take into consideration that she is not only singing it, she produced it herself.

Her writing is very top tier. Rumor has it that both this and fingers are about the old managerment that she and ren were under. I don’t know if it’s been confirmed by her directly… but I wonder if there’s a connection between this and fingers. Both of them lives for them are done in a studio, with red lighting and there’s these lyrics: Fingers: “so tell me where ya gun gone. And is the fun gone?” Little Girl Gone: “Little girl gone stole a gun from a gangsta, run little girl, run little girl RUN”

Ok!! Another great reaction! Thanks so much. Ren is a big fan of Chinchilla's and has called her his sister from another mother. Her full production of this song will explode your brain!! Ren says he loves how she gives full attention to every single detail of her productions (which is obviously what He does, too.) I'm hoping these two superstars will collaborate on more great songs like Chalk Outlines and How To Be Me. Their voices combine to create Magic. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to more of your reactions to Chinchilla's solo performances. She is Extraordinary!

Would love to see you bring back LilFreshSam for some Chinchilla reactions! Chinchilla’s production skills are on mad display in the original Little Girl Gone (for this reason, I prefer the lyric video over the official video - there’s too much to catch in a careful listening). The first version became an anthem for tapping into feminine rage - was so cathartic for so many. In her notes for the Requiem version, she says “The reaction to 'Little Girl Gone' has been amazing, eye-opening, heart wrenching. I wanted to create a live version of this song which depicts the darker more sinister themes, as well as the strength behind it. Writing this song was liberation for me and I feel that every time I sing it. I wanted to strip away everything and show the vulnerability behind the empowerment. A different angle - the place it comes from…” ❤🔥

Right on with the domestic angle- when I first saw the lyric video- it came out just went I hit the stage of therapy when I was stronger- right to fight for myself and the kids- got away for 8 by then - and then July 4th was my one year mark and this dropped live. Been awhile since my mind was this polluted- years of mental-emotional abuse YOUR blood on my teeth- I feel like this is the “punch to face/mouth” his blood from his hands cut on her teeth. Can mean physical but for me it’s also “shutting me up” not allowing me to speak truth say what’s real or keeping things hidden Kick the back of my knees- the knee check, that makes a person drop/stubble The part about putting in the work , own worth- and badge - it’s been a year of therapy for me, I am finally able to see what was a cycle of abuse by a narcissist for 16 years- I have put the work in, I know my worth again, and now ready to fight. And I can’t wait to bottle up the look on his face when he realizes he can’t keep trying to bring me down. My women’s group have been rocking to this song for months now.

OK. I am going to say some stuff that people disagree with (but please don't hate me). I have now heard/seen 3 versions of this song. The first one (lyric video) I loved - raw empowerment and fighting back against abuse (our interpretation left to our imagination). Full video, for me, changed the perspective - the narrative was like a vigilante for all women against all abusive men (not that that is a bad message but different from the one I had in my head). Personal view was that the violence was over the top and lost the subtlety of the lyric version. Then we get to this live version. I absofrigginlutely loved the Fingers live version - it brought so many textures and brought the lyrics to life. I think this live version almost loses some of the rawness of the original message BUT definitely does give a different perspective (and the backing vocals were superb). I loved the lyric video, I liked the live version. (Maybe somewhere between the two would have been ideal but, hey, it is all down to personal taste/opinion)
@ancltube Жыл бұрын
I totaly agree with you. The way the lyrics were expressed in the lyrics video really grabbed me and I loved it. When the music video came out I felt that the explicit violence in it distracted from the "true" meaning of song, but I still liked it. I was initially dissapointed about this live version, but it has grown on me and the more I listen to it the more I like it. The darker feel of it, the mourning for the loss of the little girl that was forced to grew up and fight back.
@sammyd8860 Жыл бұрын

Hey BP, great reaction . My observation as to what is unfolding in the UK is based in history and spirituality. I see that my Celtic brothers and sisters are arising from their spiritual slumber and finding their voice. The voice you hear when you awaken within. I've said for years, The first shall be last and the last shall be first. The Celts were among the first to have their spiritual ways conquered and divided, the indigenous folk around the world were last to be divided and conquered. Indigenous started awakening in the 1990's, and now the Celts/Viking races are awakening and it's reflected in their music. 🎼

I grew up with an absent father and my husband/my daughter’s father passed away tragically 3 years ago when she was 9 yrs old. I am now a single mom trying to teach her self respect, to not take crap from anyone (especially boys), that she will always deserve better….everything a girl should hear, but I always see the doubt in her eyes with it coming from me and It makes me realize even more how much girls need their daddy’s and that feeling of protection, as well as giving her confidence. That just stuck out to me in your reaction, I could tell how honest and protective you are of your daughter and it pulled at my heartstrings. 💜✌️🫶

The technical meaning of the word "requiem" is: (especially in the Roman Catholic Church) a Mass for the repose of the souls of the dead, and in a nonreligious context the word refers simply to an act of remembrance, which is very apt given the lyrical content of the song.

You should definitely do a reaction to the original video/song. This is a wonderfully haunting stripped back rendition of the original working. Almost like a rock band doing a more melodic take in an acoustic set, this song is stripping it back to basics and is completely different to how the initial release was. Go watch the music video first released - high tempo, energetic and ultra aggressive to go with the lyrics. I love the way she does this - she takes all the energy and tempo out of great songs, breaks them down into slower paced melodies and both renditions of this and Fingers are excellent in their own way, and because she re-works them in these methods, they are almost like having 2 different songs for each release she does.

Great reaction. Hope you go check out the official video, it's a complete different vibe! I feel like this one comes off more menacing and the other comes off as a banger/anthem for girl power! Notice she calls it a requiem. I had to look up the meaning: especially in the Roman Catholic Church) a Mass for the repose of the souls of the dead. "a requiem was held for the dead queen" a musical composition setting parts of a requiem Mass, or of a similar character. "Fauré's Requiem" an act or token of remembrance. "he designed the epic as a requiem for his wife"
