Black Raptor Liner on 2003 Chevy Avalanche

I just shot my 04 Avalanche Black and Blue with Raptor about a month ago (body safety blue, cladding black). Now every Avalanche owner in town chases me down to figure out what I did to the crusty cladding. I love the look now, and it was the ugliest thing I ever drove before the Raptor liner. Thanks for the tips on masking out the seals, always better that someone else f's around and finds out before I do, LOL.

Have you tried raptorlining the bedcovers yet by chance Just purchased a set of bed covers and I am going to try raptorlining the covers pewter the same color as my truck. I did all the cladding in black already and it turned out great for the condition of my cladding. Going to get another full set of cladding that's in good shape and store them so when this set I didn't goes bad I will be ready. Lol

Can it take a beating like CARC paint can? It would be cool to compare the two. I don't know if it's even possible for civilians to buy CARC anywhere but it would still be a cool comparison.

Do you use a plastic adhesion promotor in the cladding or just the wax grease and tar remover before the raptor liner. Getting ready to shoot mine in the next few weeks. Trying to cross my Ts and dot my I's. The cladding looks like it had been painted because I power washed it and alot of the what looked to be paint came off but still alot wat left. I took 3 m scotch Brite pads dry over all the cladding , then I went back with dawn dish detergent and the scotch Brite pads with water and scrubbed the hell out of all the cladding, rinsed it off so what paint is left will not come off with high pressure power wash or the scotch Brite scrub down so I am thinking I shouldn't have an issue with it sticking. I just want to know your thoughts on wether I should use the plastic promoter before the raptor liner or just wipe down with was bug tar remover and shoot it. Thanks for any advise brother!! Of coarse, I will be washing the cladding one more time for final prep, right before the raptor liner with scotch Brite and dawn again before raptor lining it.thanks again for the videos!!

First, thanks for checking out the videos and commenting. If it was me, I would run the sander over the cladding to ensure no clear coat is left. If there is paint left on it you should be fine to just spray after cleaning. However, if the paint on the cladding was bad, i.e. cracked. It might mean that was a bad prep job before and I would spray adhesive. I usually don't like to take a chance with plastic, so I use it. But I think you should be good to go. I hope that helps. Keep me posted, I'd like to see before and after pics.

What spray gun do you use? I have an HVLP with 2.0 mm tip and I also have the regular Upol Shultz gun with the regular nozzle. I am just doing my plastic cladding.

@@tellitallnow3914 I use the gun that comes with the kit, the Upol gun. I've used the same one all year. I just clean it well between every third bottle. I like the texture I get keeping the compressor around 90 psi.

Brother I hate bugging ya as you do enough with the videos BUT what type of compressor do U use. I see alot of people using little pancake compressors but can they shoot at 90psi??. I have a 10 gallon 155psi tank but I have access to a two stage if I absolutley need the larger tank. What say YOU bro? And again, THANKS for your knowledge. It's more then I know but I am going for it. Will for sure get before and after pics to send to ya.
