That trim protection held amazing. Scary to see your work almost done and rain about to make you start all over. Thanks someone invented the leaf blower to help drying fast. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷

It’s great here! We used to live in Vermont and the winters in VA are super mild! I only complain because I hate the cold so much! 🤣 but honestly it’s cold for a few days then it’s 60-70° again.

Loved the video. How much do you usually charge for ceramic coating the plastic trim on a truck like this? Thanks!
@MirandaDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Typically around $200-$300 depending on how much plastic there is to coat.
@FABAutomotiveDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Wow that trim held up great! As a mobile Detailer working fast how do you deal with water coming out of trim and badges while polishing? It’s so annoying when it happens and gets in the pad. Being I don’t do this for a living I have the luxury of washing and letting dry overnight.
@MirandaDetailing4 жыл бұрын
It really did! Well the rain didn’t last long enough for it to get to wet. So at least it wasn’t dripping out of seams and such. But if it starting really pouring we would just have to stop and reschedule. But if it’s just residual water in cracks and emblems we make sure to blow them dry really well before polishing or waxing. 😎👍🏼
@Mogsy28uk4 жыл бұрын
nice job Team Miranda! 😎 crazy amount of plastic trim, i tend to use AM Trim or Meg's Ultimate Black, but you'd need a lot for that SUV. Paint Protect still available in UK, but its about £18-19 per bottle, don't think its a sales winner either, ceramic sealant sprays are much easier to apply, and even good ones are cheaper that PP.

If I use Solution Finish to restore trim, do you know how long I need to wait till I can coat it with Car Pro DLUX?

Have you used Zep truck and trailer wash? If you have what’s your opinion on it? That would make a great video for maintenance wash Or maybe a soap that will remove waxes if your going to do a paint correction.
@MirandaDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Hi. I haven’t used it before. I usually stick with more gentle soaps like Hyper Wash or Citrus wash and gloss. But we do an APC rinse and that really starts to break down any protection on the paint if any. Usually we are dealing with vehicles that have no protection at all so a strip wash is really unnecessary. But I have heard that those truck and trailer washes are strong and good for strip washing. But if you are going to do a paint correction and coating anyway, any polishing you do will strip away anything on the paint. So it’s more efficient to not worry about a strip wash, but rather make sure it’s clay barred well and even iron and tar removal if needed which is more important to me before I compound and polish.

Phil, Great video...I just had 2 questions...what do you use as the APC rinse and the ratio mix? Do you spray the the entire truck/car on your pre-rinse process?
@MirandaDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks. We use Super clean most often as our APC/Degreaser rinse. We usually spray it’s the bottom portions with APC/Degreaser becasue it has the most build up. But you can spray the entire vehicle if needed.

@@MirandaDetailing Yo! Very Nice! What's your dilution of Superclean to preclean the exterior?
@MirandaDetailing4 жыл бұрын
@@TheAverageJoeX thanks...We dilute it 4:1. but when we pre-rinse it dilutes it more, but it works great as a prewash /APC Rinse.

What happened to your pop tent? I only use mine when it sprinkles/rains. If its heavy rain/windy I reschedule the appointment. Us mobile guys have it bad. But I love the perfect weather days. Makes being a mobile detailer worth it. Well, that and the low overhead! haha Nice work as always!
@MirandaDetailing4 жыл бұрын
I have it. But at this point it’s just a light sprinkle. So we did t worry about it. Plus the truck is so long it covers only 3/4 of it at a time. Some days here are like that, sunny and rainy all in one day. It’s hard to call it sometimes.

Phil & Wife, Another outstanding video, Thank you. If you had chose one trim protectant, for vinyl, leather, rubber and or plastics, interior and exterior, what would it be?
@MirandaDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That’s a tough question since there are so many types of plastics and rubbers out there. But I but I guess a good all around dressing is 303 Areospace Protectant.
@hartlanddetailer56704 жыл бұрын
@@MirandaDetailing Yes, I use 303, but I started using Carpro PERL mixed 1:1 seems to last longer than 303 on the exterior.

Cool. Yeah PERL is good to, I found those water based dressings need lots of time to dry so they don’t wash off. I tested PERL straight on my trim and it washed off to fast.

I'm really digging Cerakote
@TheAverageJoeX4 жыл бұрын
I don't dig that it has to be sanded off when it starts to fade/peel/chop/come off before applying again (according to Cerakote). It lasted me a little over a year on a CRV with lots of trim. They sorta stood up to their gurantee and gave me another application kit instead of a refund. I'll only use it on "not critical" areas now like mud flaps, lower/under rocker panels, and wheel wells.

I wish I could foam, rinse, then foam and contact wash. The heat here in Texas at any time of the day doesn't make that possible.
@MirandaDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s difficult to do that alone. Here even in direct sun and crazy heat we are still able to do it but of course there’s two of us and we work fast. But if someone is working alone they have to split it up and do it sections.

Striking out at others whom you don't even know can feel good sometimes. But seriously you should seek some help and get your life under control. It's just music, you have technology that allows. you to mute or lower the volume. Do that next time and learn how to deal with your issues, and don't strike out. Calm down, breathe, go outside and get some air. Better yet, stay off this platform or only watch what you like. That will make you feel better.
