Dio didn't suffer fools lightly. He was gracious and humble when people through him hand-drawn crafts, depicting himself or Dio/Sabbath/Rainbow/Elf album art; he was always very appreciative. Oh, but ye gods, I've seen several of these incidents involving people throwing shirts and banners onstage that were logos and cheap plugs for pubs, goods, and services. Basically "SPAM and Pop-Ups" in real-life. He'd unfold this shit, look at it and if it was "SPAM", he'd wipe his ass with it, stuff it down his crotch and toss it right back at 'em with a well-placed curse or two. "Ya Twat!"-classic Ronnie!

Live performance is totally different than safe stu-DIO ones. Air quality, weather conditions,(too dry or moist affects the vocals, congested sinuses) any and all of the above affects the 'sound' quality of singing. But DIO always powers through. Love it! Thank you!

Ronnie was such a gentle soul that he could never come off convincingly when he wanted to call someone a fucking asshole like they deserved. Unaccustomed to conflict and altogether better than it, and, as an artist, above it. That awkwardness just brings a tear to my wee eyelet. In this wasteland that we have today.

Now tell me who would actually keep rocking hard like that while having cancer? I bet that Geddy Lee wouldnt do that. RIP RONNIE!

I'll tell you one thing they missed the opportunity to do having reunited with RJD for this CD/tour...cover some Tony Martin stuff. The next reunion was marked by no Ozzy stuff and changing the band's name, but they should have dropped the Ozzy stuff for the Dehumanizer show and added "Headless Cross", "The Shining" and "Valhalla", given that Martin was brought in by Tony because of how much he sounded like Ronnie. Conversely, Ronnie's voice would have suited Martin material more than Ozzy-era stuff.

Martin can't never hold a candle next to Dio, Pure Facts!!! Deal with it!!!
@troyevitt2437 Жыл бұрын
@@divo686 That's not what I said. What said was that Martin was brought in to rekindle that Dio-era vibe. With Dio having been a solo artist for nearly a decade, I don't see why they felt the need to do ANY back-catalog except for Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules... ...but they DID choose to do back-catalog and the better era to copy would have most definitely been the Martin-era stuff versus classic Ozzy-era. Dio's voice was much better suited to "The Shining" from the album, "The Eternal Idol", the title track of "Headless Cross" and from "Tyr", "Valhalla" is a fist-raiser as upposed to "Iron Man", "Paranoid" and "War Pigs".

ffsf739 If you didn't notice someone in the audience threw a shirt at him as he was speaking. He deftly caught it in his right hand, looked at it and threw it down. I'm sure most performers don't appreciate objects thrown at them from the darkness as they're introducing the next song.
@rustykuntz948 жыл бұрын
Reading about him in the Sabbath biography yes, he was VERY outspoken & would give it right back to fans, media, anyone who crossed or he felt wronged him. AT 5'6 he was short in stature but big in BALLS & obviously voice!

I NEVER GOT why fans throw things at the singer or band. They are infamous for that in Brazil, San Paulo & Rio for sure. They spit at the bands, wtf?
